PrashanthSP 1st Gear July 8, 2017 Share July 8, 2017 I'm sorry to bring the discussion back to window films... in our weather, i feel the one thing we need to invest is a good set of film, especially plus sunroof. I went with Cool N Lite... my 4th time/ car with them... this last installment, the installer refused to let me drive off until he rectified a small bubble he found when the car was moved outdoors for final checks. I wouldn't call their pricing cheap but I feel worth. Yes agreed. Speaking of window films, future Forester owners don't go for cheaper films like Zen car. Yes, his deal is very cheap incl sunroof as long as everything goes smoothly. But his workmanship is very poor and he does not honor the warranty. Went there to rectify dirt on the front windscreen (happened during installation), he said it's always like that one and he can't remove the front film to fix it. Obviously removing dirt on front solar film is a lot of work so he tried to siam it. I had to argue with him and he did it while showing a lot of frustration. Very poor experience with Zen Car. ↡ Advertisement
Alcander Neutral Newbie July 8, 2017 Share July 8, 2017 Did anyone went to LengKee for today's promo? Anything worth getting? I went to Leng Kee today. The price for Forester XT is 131,800 before trade in and loan discount. They have all colours but delivery is around Nov/Dec.
gearStick 1st Gear July 8, 2017 Share July 8, 2017 Hi Bros/Sistas Collected XT 100 days ago from MI. Been following this thread since a year ago. Would like to show appreciation to all who had posted on this Forester thread. Christopher Tan (ST review 19/03/16) ignited the fire. The forumers here kept the flame burning. Indeed, the AWD & Boxer engine's design gives the me the desire to take long drive unhindered by traffic lights on curvy roads and non-tarred roads. Not on NSHW but the Kota Tinggi East Coast Corridor towards Endau-Rompin. Imagine a 1.6ton SUV going into a bend at 120/130km & coming out w/o any trace of tail drift. Even my CO had a GRIN on her face from the XT's performance on this route. We have been on this route before. We drove 2.0 CRV & 2.5 Mark X. On every trip there was always a need to down-shift the gear on overtaking. However, upon reflection we have not use the paddle shifter on the last trip at all with the XT!! Sianz, can't try out this feature!! Early morning kicking dust off-road. Will share our experience on RON, FC and our drive. The desire to share is because it dawn upon us that this thread maybe winding down in intensity soon as MI may not be bringing in XT (at least) en mass. This sharing is an appreciation of those who had posted before & had assisted us in making the XT our current drive.

Andyngps 5th Gear July 9, 2017 Share July 9, 2017 Oh i din know can nego. Paid 500 for mine. Agreed on the worksmanship. Mine had a hole at the rear bench. Din really see this during collection till recently. My colleague was checking on your ex ride ytd. He asked me can buy anot. i saw the red FXT and think must be yours. Many mention that the dash is very dated looking. It's just nice for me. Don't really like fancy dash with alot of different layers of material. My complaint is probably the door with the hard plastic. Hard is an overstatement. Soft and flimsy is a more fitting description. Lol. I must say the dashboard is quite sturdy though despite dated. Very poor experience with Zen Car.Bro, was that in the past? I was there recently and there is a returned car to do rectification and the boss honoured it leh. Hmmm... My ex fxt car plate should be SLQxxxx. Internal organs all good as I do regular servicing with motul. Tires are 24k km old Michelin primacy 3. Suspension and brakes all strong. Only quirks are the occasional creaky front seats, awd alignment a bit off and slight steer to left, and squeaky and spongy brake pedal ( but braking performance quite ok). Lastly, mileage a bit high. 34k in 1 year 2 months... It's one of the cheaper units in sgcarmart. For a 5 seater performance SUV at about 100k is a good buy. Lastly, it comes with quite a lot of paint chips, some small dents and a few scratches if u look close enough. Lol Ask him think carefully if he needs a awd 2L turbo SUV. Awd is fun if u try to push the fxt near to its traction limits disregarding the amount of body rolls... the linear power delivery is smooth and can be addictive but often overkill in our local traffic. Fc can be ok or can be very bad depends on traffic and routes and right foot. Bro. Did you experience any significant noise reduction when changed to primacy? I assume its st3? richard_crl032 6th Gear July 9, 2017 Share July 9, 2017 i totally agree. Solar film is a very important investment for our cars. I went with 3M with all my previous cars. No complains. FC should never be a topic in the first place for SUV, especially for Subaru. :) Haha ..wait till bros drives typical Jap MPV .. the ever popular odyssey or Estima ...8-9 km/l. My almost 10 yrs old estima does <8km/l due to 80% city driving ...lol

Newkid 2nd Gear July 9, 2017 Share July 9, 2017 Last that I heard ..no fxt for new forester even when released Sep 2018 but decision may change .... who knows since 1.5 yr more but din want to buy a 8+ yr car and wait to be prove right. Only FNA will be sold locally but heard interior and exterior like good european cars. Cheers. I think no more FXT from Sep 17 because it us not Euro 6 compliant and LTA requires all petrol cars to be Euro 6 from 1 Sep 17 onwards. Harrier Turbo is Euro 6 so will be the car of choice for many families going forward.
