New Hyundai Tucson

One of the reason why I chose Tucson 1.6 turbo is that I find the Subaru Forrester turbo kick-in a bit too sudden and powerful to handle for myself as a first-timer turbo driver. I find Tucson turbo kick-in very smoothly without the overly powerful push effects.

Yea Korean v competent in their tuning!

Hi,

Interested in the 1.6 GLS DCT Turbo "S" version.

S$122,999 (valid till 29th Oct'17)

5 years unlimited mileage warranty

3 years free servicing

1 year road tax

4-bids guarantee COE

If you are existing Hyundai car owner, loyalty discount of $1K (not sure need to trade in or not). If you opt for 3 months-6bids non-guarantee COE, can discount $4k. Body kit need to top-up another 2K.

Never bargain, just go there and see the car and ask the price only.

Above good deal ? Or anymore freebies can be thrown in ?

Btw, read quote a few concern on their DCT gearbox and since the car is relatively new (I assumed only selling for less than 1 year in Singapore), does anybody know whether their 5 years warranty cover the gearbox ?

And also, have they solve their Electronic Power Steering issue that plague Avante series ? Also covered by warranty ?

Thanks

I haven't read anything on this thread about the dual clutch gearbox... only one case in the Carens thread which never appeared again... are you being paranoid?

Oh. More from Google on 2016 US model. So not sure whether SG and US model are the same or not.

And also read that DCT not suitable for frequent start stop traffic and try to avoid inching forward during jam which is rather not practical in SG condition.

Thot they would give extra $2k discount for whoever agree to take the hideous bodykit from their stockpile

It's not the same... they have their own plant... ours come from Korea...

Oh really ? Wow! Anyway, it was a rather "fine print" on the stand and maybe I read it incorrectly.

It's a sensor problem... anyway need to tow cos the parking brake is activated and can't be released is it? What did Komoco do? Replace the sensor module? Or? Good to let us know what they did the first time... and update us for this second time... so far I think yours is the first case reported here...

Wow. That was recommended in one of the FB group to use auto hold + normal mode during jam to prevent DCT gearbox heating up. So did you use that combination at jb for that purpose ? Or did it occurred during a jam where u need to inch forward over a prolonged period ?

No jam during two instances. As usual, I started my car by pressing the start engine, release the brake button, shift to "Drive" mode and prepare to move off. However "Auto Brake" and "EPB" came out with "Red Alert" flashing. My car was unable to move and was "locked" at the rear wheels.

1st time, Hyundai changed some kind of pump (cannot remember exact terms).

2nd time which is yesterday, they told me one of the sensor modular at the rear was defective. So to prevent it happen again, they changed both and require longer time to test drive. Hyundai only able to return my car or monday or tuesday.

I stay in JB (my second home), travel 3 times at least to n fro every week thus high mileage, not private hire larrr hahaha

Just curious... with the auto hold function... why do you need to release the parking brakes by pressing the button? Once you engage the reverse or forward gear and step on the accelerator pedal, shouldn't the parking brakes be released?

That's right... one you enable auto hold, there's no need to touch the electronic parking brake button anymore... once you come to a complete stop, the parking brake will applied automatically... and once you step on the gas pedal, the parking brake will automatically be released... that's one feature I hoped my Sonata will come with but it didn't materialize... so using foot parking brake... sigh...
