Nine_eleven 2nd Gear December 17, 2015 Share December 17, 2015 Think d cashier is a sotong. Probably worked in a Esso station before with d standard $5 discount per voucher. Your encounter is a awakening reminder to all d shell station cashiers. It's not the cashier sotong.... The supervisor really thought the interpretation of the discount voucher is like that! Shell didn't disseminate the information correctly! ↡ Advertisement

Once when I used a SPC voucher, the cashier never even see it before, still ask me where I get from haha...
Unlimitedz Clutched December 17, 2015 Share December 17, 2015 so if I'm using HSBC, i should pump $72 - 16% = $60.48 then eligible to use voucher to pay-: $60.48- $6 = $54.48? - or - pump $60 - 16% = $50.4 then eligible to use voucher disc $6 = $44.4?

Did the $60 option, paid $44.40 for 26 litres. Some might consider this time wasting since not full tank and need to return to kiosk soon; I am contented with the savings :)

Nine_eleven 2nd Gear December 17, 2015 Share December 17, 2015 U actualy went back to claim $6?...I live nearby and would have went back to pump on another day. So going back there is no issue. At least customers going to pump there will get their money's worth from today

tmsan 3rd Gear December 17, 2015 Share December 17, 2015 I hv 2 shell booklets, but will be using the esso vouchers until June 2016 becos staying near Jln Kayu which has 3 esso stations can use the $5 voucher for $50 pump (already used to pump esso with $5 voucher for whole of this year). Now somemore Citibank giving 8% rebate with esso, end up still slightly cheaper than shell
tmsan 3rd Gear December 17, 2015 Share December 17, 2015 Btw I went argue with Jln Kayu esso cashier how come cannot pump $100 n get $10 discount using just 1 voucher, esso voucher also said something like for every 50 gets 5 discount, I mean similar effect to shell voucher, in the end they still win, need 2vouchers to get $10 discount
Nine_eleven 2nd Gear December 17, 2015 Share December 17, 2015 it's just how the voucher is worded... with the Esso vouchers, i usually end up having to fill up once a month without voucher coz it just ran out... with the shell ones... i might have leftover vouchers!
