Been driving bezza for about 1.5 month.

 

Although it is only 930kg, but it feel solid when driving it. Cornering in high speed without any problem.

 

Pick up from traffic light is fast, can on par with many crazy taxi drivers.

 

Boot space is huge. I can put my 26' folding bike in it.

Can but it’s a tight fit. In terms of the depth. Cos my rear seats cannot fold down so the bicycle is a bit pushed against the rear seats to make sure the boot can be closed properly. Height and width wise no issue.

Then I believe your bike should be no problem for Bezza, cause if not enough depth the rear seat can knock down.

yeah, 26' bike easily fits in..

 

i even see bezza group showing fitting 2 bikes in, while some use it like lorry..

While i'd agree that its in-line 4 1300cc engine still have alittle more breath when the vehicle is travelling at about 120 km/h, your cornering review is quite defying the logic of physics actually with the 5 factors below. 

 

1. Its wheelbase is short.

 

2. Its body is tall.

 

3. It is still a light weighted car (of cos we are not expecting it to be heavy for a 1.3l car).

 

4. Its on 175/60/14 tyres (I am in no position to say these are undersize but I seriously think Perodua put these to achieve fuel consumption. Of cos, these tyres can always be upgraded for improved stability with abit of fuel consumption as tradeoff).

 

5. Its 4AT gear box is suited to merge with moving traffic so that it does not slow other traffic down but will not give you adrenaline push (i know that is already not a fair comparison but that is how Bezza engine works).

 

With the technology of taxis today, we are in no way their match. How fast is fast and which corner for example we can take some reference to? Some left bends like the one after Clementi Rd along PIE can already make the vehicle starting to lose its stability at speeds from 110 km/h or more. So is this speed taking this particular corner fast or not fast enough?

 

This car will also shakes slightly more when passing tour buses along NSHW due to its tall stance and lightweight body.

 

Dun get me wrong, I m not trying to talk down anything here but I went for test drive for both auto & manual. The auto is surprisingly seamless being only a 4 speed AT, the power response doesn't quite lose out from manual. The manual stick certainly do not look "modern" for a time like this and if you shift the stick quickly, it seems to have a synchronized tiny bit of issue, not a big thing to many drivers today especially when many will not choose manual option just to save $2,000. Those that choose manual will purely be just a personal choice I strongly feel.

 

Comparing to the same class competition which is the Attrage, the 1.2 liter Attrage scores on quicker pickup due to its in-line 3 engine but lose breath on higher speeds. Attrage has abit more driving features than the Bezza like Traction Control, head unit touchscreen & I think bigger rims (I may have missed out more, I dunno).

 

The 36 liter fuel tank will light up its low-fuel warning in the remains of 6 liters. With 30 liters in use, the car travels about 450 km achieving between 15 to 16 km per liter on tyre size 185/55/15, this tyre size upgrade will not affect speedo reading as the diameter remains with the factory stock tyres. 

 

Overall, the Bezza is a good car in a class of its own in terms of affordability in the Singapore context and I'd choose it myself too. Hope the inputs helps.

The Bezza may be a basic run about, but in terms of engine refinement, reliability and built quality, it beats any China made cars sold in Singapore to date, be it Hafei, Chana, Geely, Wuling or Chery .

Narrow + tall + skinny tyres = an effective killing machine at high speeds / wet roads!

First top up after 1k servicing......16.8km/L ! 50% highway 50% city.Very satisfied compared with my previous cars.

 

Daewoo Nubira 1.6M at best achieved 11km/L. It was as heavy as a tank.

Lancer GLX 1.6M at best achieved 12.5km/L.

I also yet to step my foot in china, probably will not too. as i really hear terrible things about the country and culture..

But i know their red light distinct, is damn happening
