This is because the new Ateca 2020 is coming out soon, and most likely reach Singapore around Q2/Q3 2020. I think they are trying to sell the new batch of Ateca Excellence that arrived in their showrooms recently. There's less than 6 FR in their new stock list, if I'm not wrong. The Excellence model meets most Singaporeans' expectations of a practical car, and a few K cheaper. The FR will cross S$130k with today's COE bid. Hardcore 1st Gear September 11, 2020 Share September 11, 2020 Did anybody went to test drive the new 8sp Ateca Xcellence? Think there's none at Vertex showroom for test drive yet but read in Fb that somebody is already driving one for awhile now after homologation. Spoke to my SE when I was at Ubi showroom for servicing. I can pass you my SE contact if you are keen.

And then share your experience with us just like before you decided that Seat Ateca is the one for you.

I am definitely test driving the 8ap Ateca but probably in Oct as I planned my block leave during that period. So until then, if there's any bro here who tested the 8sp Ateca do share your feedback here 🙂

Is it simply because you don't like or trust French?

Being my first conti ride and my colleague's experience with his Peugeot (collapsing roof lining, engine error appearing now and then, engine not able to start, etc), the 140k asking price was a little hard to swallow. My Ateca is coming to a year soon and no regret so far - It's priced right and well-equipped for my needs. i will keep an open view for the coming 4 years before I start looking around. 🙂

Carzee Clutched September 13, 2020 Share September 13, 2020 Do share some pictures of the digital cockpit and 8spd after the test drive of the new Ateca for anyone who test drove. Vertex didn't upload the latest on their website - still the 2017 cockpit.

For digital cockpit, should be able to google on Seat website so more interesting will be the 8sp transmission where present Ateca owners like you and Splinter can enlighten us with any significant difference to the 6sp and 7sp DSGs. Sam91 Neutral Newbie September 14, 2020 Share September 14, 2020 For 7 spd dsg there are using dq200 or dq380? and are they using the 8 spd Aisin for the AWD variant as well?

Ateca 7-speed DSG is using DQ200. DQ380 is for higher torque cars (<= 420 Nm, if i remember correctly). Ateca 6-speed DSG is using DQ250. This is for the AWD variant with multilink suspension. The incoming Ateca model will be on 8-speed Aisin (not the 2021 model). I understand from my SE they will stop bringing in AWD variant for the current model.

But from my understanding Audi A3 1.0T is paired to dq380 (7 spd wet) even though the torque is Low. but yea I am also interested to know what’s the diff in driving exp between the 8 spd Aisin and dsg. It’s a pity that they won’t bring in the awd variant le. Was eyeing that in view that only that variant has the multi-link suspension thanks for the info ! Setting aside clutch and mechatronic issues, the 8 speed autobox should be smoother at low speed as torque converter will eliminate clutch judder and low speed vibration. This is because the mechatronic actuator cannot mimic your left leg & clutch pedal as well as driving a manual gearbox. Some people prefer the DSG faster gear shift, some people prefer the dampening from torque converter. U can test drive both gearboxes to see which one suit you better. Thanks for sharing. My Ateca Excellence has the same info system but not the digital cockpit. Everything else looks similar. The new batch that arrived in Seat Ubi should be the ones with the digital cockpit. I saw the grey Alcantara seats in the video, which Seat didn't bring in. Unsure why? Personally prefer the grey Alcantara seats. ↡ Advertisement
