Kb27 Supersonic March 27, 2017 Share March 27, 2017 I ordered a Choetech 6 ports usb charger from Lazada. It is on the way here. Haven't decide how to mount it, but likely will be lazy and leave on the desk. Nowadays double-sided tape is so convenient to mount light objects. Some are so strong, that it may rip off your paintwork, if you decide to pull it out later. Just be careful. ↡ Advertisement
Kusje Supersonic March 27, 2017 Share March 27, 2017 Yes it does. The usb is a small pcb with some ICs and components. They draw current all the time, although small, unless there's a switch on the usb to turn it off. I suggest you go local electrical shops in Veerasamy Rd or Choo Chiang and look for a reputable brand. Otherwise, you'll have to settle with cheapo unknown chinese brands. Choo Chiang dun have... Vratenza Supersonic May 6, 2017 Author Share May 6, 2017 UPDATE: Got these from TaoBao, arrived only yesterday ==> My original problem(s) ==> The broken black screw stump Guide to fixing the issue: 1) Cut power to the wall power socket at the circuit breaker level. Double check by plugging in an electrical device to see if the current has indeed been cut. 2) Using a flat head screwdriver, insert under the faceplate and twist it to pop up the faceplate. Remove the faceplate to expose the 2 long screws that holds down the baseplate. 3) Unscrew the baseplate. 4) install the replacement metal post at the location of the broken stump. Twist it tight using the tool provided or your own wrench. Make sure the screw threaded hole faces outward and aligned to where the hole of the baseplate will be. Quite abit of eye power guestimate to adjust the position until it aligns properly. 5) installation of the baseplate and faceplate are in reverse of the removal. Finished products: Hope this DIY pictorial helps those in the same situation as me. Especially for those with recessed /sunken power outlet.
