Saw someone change the tiger nose section to a grille

Will there be any risk doing so other than voiding warranty? Like is it protecting some components or something?

I don’t mind changing if can change to a grille similar to the cerato’s

the stonic looks good to me, just dont know if quality is good coz it's a new car

just got the stonic price is 80599, worth to buy?

IMHO. When you consider the launch price of the EX Variant was 69,999. Current price level does not make any sense, only serves to contribute to C&C’s bottom line. Low Parf as well.

From what I know, the launch price did not stay long and very quickly moved up to $70+K. Given the recent increase of COE, the current price of $78,599 for the EX (after the $2K interest discount) is pretty comparable to what was the pricing in the previous months, if we do not take COE into consideration.

The majority of the other brands have increased their prices as well. So better to compare across the board and not what the price was almost a year ago.

Of course, one can wait out and hope the COE falls with the upcoming recession and the pricing goes back to the launch price region.  [:)]

Current coe trend is similar to when the Stonic was launched. IMHO. Given the 10k VES rebate, C&C should be pricing the stonic cheaper and not at current price levels.

IMHO, the Stonic was a good buy at launch price but at current levels, it will be good to give it a miss.

I bought the car at launch  S$69999 (this is after all the rebates and whatever thrown in), the COE than was $25.5K. Today's COE is $32.7K. That is almost 7k difference. Factoring today's COE which mean i paid $76,999. They did up the price, but it is only 1.5K

The low parf due to VES rebate is bs la. I dont know why people keep harping on it. Without the rebate you would have paid more upfront. LTA really screwed up here, no one seem to think the VES rebate is an incentive. Everyone seem to think it is a penalty. LOL!

can share what is the fuel consumption like for the stonic? Thks [;)]

I drive to work 33km one way with 70% highway i get about 6.5l per 100km (or 15.3lm/l)

Noted on the COE trend error on my part.

The VES rebate is no bs. It is suppose to translate to lower cost to buyers IF the AD chooses to pass on the savings.

With the low parf, translates to lower resale value and higher effective depre.

Net Net one still saves with the VES rebates, but admittedly not by much.

Take for e.g. the Stonic, with the latest OMV at ~$19K.

- Without the VES rebate, the PARF at the end of 10 years will be ~$9.5K.

- With the VES rebate of $10K, the PARF at the end of the 10 years will be ~$4.5K (lower by $5K)

With the upfront VES reduction of $10K, one would be looking at net savings of $5K.

This comparison is purely based on paper value alone. We all know the price we pay for the car depends on the margins by the AD or PI, and that fluctuate according to their pricing strategies which vary weekly depending on demand and the COE prices.

Usually, when COE is low, we pay more relatively to the actual car cost, compared to when the COE is high, as during the latter, the AD and PI will sacrifice their margin to get sales.

Again, taking the Stonic as an e.g., the margin for C&C (according to LTA) is

- ~$21K when the COE was ~$28K in Jul

- ~$15K when the COE was ~$37K in May

Anyway, my point is not to be too bothered about the VES rebates (VES surcharge is another matter altogether). The impact to the wallet is not that significant.

If one really wants to get the best bang for the buck, go for the Attrage.

- VES rebate of $8.5K

- One of the lowest (if not the lowest) margin for the AD at ~$8K

- One of the lowest (if not the lowest) selling price in SG.

:D

Yes, except that there is the current promotion of free upgrade from the EX to the SX, hence the $5K discount for the SX, making the 2-tone now the most expensive of the Stonic trims.

I suspect there must be an incoming shipment of SX and they are looking to lock in sales to clear stock fast. The 2-tone trim needs to be build/customize-to-order.

Not surprised, most SEs have been pushing the SX sunroof more because got more ready stock/frequent incoming shipment. Any 2 tone unit needs to indent one, incur longer waiting time, meaning the deal is completed much later. So maybe they purposely price that higher so that SX sunroof sells better.

Are there a lot of 2 tones stonic owners here? how long did you wait for your car to be deliver?

I was considering the Stonic SX sunroof at first but later changed my mind and got another new car elsewhere.

Stonic is nice car, quite well equipped though.

Hi guys. I contacted rikecool and was told to call to call 62972422 to book an appointment. However, they also highlighted that this is done on a goodwill basis from rikecool to Kia customers and not from AD to customers so we should be nice to the C&C sales guys as it’s not them offering it. Let’s play nice and enjoy our toys together
