A New Chapter - Skoda Singapore

All skoda/VW in SG will have their warranty honoured by volkswagen singapore subjected to term and condition

It will be the exact same set of warranty offered by SCS/VWS which is 2years factory + 3 years extended

That includes all skoda and volkswagen that are not brought from SCS/VWS

Seriously? That means pi one under SCS or VWS warranty? Wow. So only diff is the free servicing?

Maybe warranty only 2 yrs?

Same 2+3 years warranty.

Only difference is servicing. Be prepared to pay full price for servicing at SCS.

Your servicing must be done at SCS if the when it comes to warranty certain issues will arise.

Hence I will only suggest you to go to a PI if and only if the model you wanted isn't brought in by SCS.

The savings for models which SCS do bring in isn't substantial

Same model, the only reason ppls get from PI is due to cheap. If PI intend to get the same ~30% preimum as AD, this PI must be greedy beause their overhead cost is so much lesser than AD

Don't expect PI to be cheap.

Currently, all PI source from Authorised Distributors in UK/AUS and those ADs in UK/AUS have their Profit Margin as well.

On top of that, the models that SCS brings in are not as well equipped as the UK/AUS counterparts.

With an expected higher OMV, ADs Margin, and PI's margin, don't expect to have significant savings over getting from SCS

The only reason why people go for PI is that they are able to customize to their exact needs which SCS doesn't provide.

Other Conti cars like Audi, BMW, and Mercs, the reason why buying from PI lets you enjoy significant savings is that our local ads have super high-profit margin.

Are you very sure???

I seriously doubt so. Warranty is not free. There is cost associated. I was offered to pay additional $3500 to cover my Jetta for additional two years. For VW SG covers warranty of cars not brought in by them? Does not make sense.

That was the info I got when I asked.

They have to do this as they are the direct representation of skoda in Singapore

Unlike other brands which appoints an authorised distributor to represent them

Hi bro, the RS245 is very popular world wide and allocations for the car is limited to countries. I myself, am waiting for the next batch to arrive too.  :D Currently, indications are that the next batch might come some time early next year depending on factory allocation. If you are interested, let me know if I should PM you and keep you guys in the loop for the RS245, if there are any news of incoming stocks or indicative dates, I can follow up with you.

Cheers!

Who did you ask? PI or VW SG?

Warranty is different from country to country. Because it is part of the cost the local needs to cover depending on market competitions. It will factor in as part of the selling price.

Local representation might have a duty to service or repair the car. But warranty is different story. The car might come with standard factory warranty. But not the 2+3 that is customized to local market.

Unless Skoda factory mandate PI to pay VW SG $$$ to cover the warranty.

Extra warranty is always underwritten by an insurance company tie up with the workshop.

I rather take my chances and save the $3500. Quite some instances of cock and bull to claim this warranty.

Delays and claims of it being wear and tear etc.

Consumer protection in Singapore is piss poor. So better not to throw more money into such warranties. I rather just pay to fix whenever a problem arises. You get it done faster and without going through the pain of arguing and fighting.
