Now ADs cannot void your warranty!

Sometimes not true, only apply for engine related which is maintained by servicing. For me, my wiper fluid reservoir got leaking seal, as under warranty AD fix for free. What happen if next time service outside? Will AD still fix? Hopefully answer is yes

agree. there are maintenance related issues which can be addressed by regular maintenance and servicing, and there are issues due to manufacturing defects. hopefully there would be no compromise in service quality from the ADs (or at least without needing to pay exorbitant prices) once the new ruling kicks in.

Haha. I for sure will tell the foreman off!

that's my personal encounter at the AD

I saw they charged a exorbitant price for wiper fluid top up in the first service and that's what the 'Technical advisor' told me

so I bought the genuine factory wiper fluid, top it up to the brim before the second service and I thought I was smart

second bill still charge me for wiper fluid top up. When asked, the 'Tecnical Advisor' said they suck out all my wiper fluid and top it up with theirs

I was laughing and paid because I surrendered

I also kanna mountain tortoise syndrome as well.

Din know when you open the bonnet of certain make , u need to pull the level twice.

Yes. So you need not release the bonnet catch. 1st pull is to release the bonnet. 2nd pull is for the bonnet catch.

Those which you pull once to open, you have to use your fingers to pry/release the bonnet catch in order to open it.

Safety feature in case you accidentally pulled it so you don't have a bonnet in your face. :XD:

So kind to pay, I will scold them and refuse to pay if I didn't request for that service item.

1 common type of rice feed many types of people.

I type of book teaching car mechanics can derive many types of mechanics too.

In the past, Japanese were proud that their technology and parts / materials are the best.

Engineers think that those materials / parts that they have designated are the best one.

Even though there are various choices in the drawings, they only stick to one particular they like.

Now.....cheapest is the best. Boh pianz....materials / parts from Korea, India, China or anywhere as long as its compatible and low cost.

AD trying to brain wash me....show me the COO first.  :D  :D  :D

actually the whole debacle came about as a result of a larger than large permium that the AD can ask for and hold you hostage.

With this rule, I would imagine the AD would quickly help to calm the owners with information on the website.

Seems like the AD is unfazed, so no updates.

I would also imagine that the major servicing would command a lesser premium since the main competitors is now the uncle workshop that has a "just do it" attitude, aka luan luan lye as long as owner happy and only want to pay peanuts.

But no marketing blitz or news of any movement.

My guess is, after the news was release ,the AD are waiting for the general public to sense that there is another variation of CASE behavior and you just have to LLST.

BM is still touting that warranty benefits is dependent on servicing with them

TOYOTA SERVICING

There's nothing quite like the first time you took the wheel of your Toyota. To keep your Toyota in top condition and with warranty benefits, we recommend punctual maintenance every 6 months' drive or every 10,000km
