Test drove the Eclipse Cross yesterday. Love the feel of the drive. encouraged by the various features but discouraged by other features missing from my current car. My wife liked the ride and look of the EC too. After thrashing out a deal, booked an EC. Yay.

 

However, no stock till next delivery in July. Assuming COE successful, going to be a long wait. Unless book a silver version, which will have stock for May delivery.

 

The boot covers are not available yet apparently, according to the SE.

 

Looking forward to driving my own EC.

Register in July, any price adjustment on VES? Or same price?

Congrats but be prepared to have a long wait. Experience when buying my EC with C&C was regretful... wonderful car but very bad shopping experience with them. Probably one of my worst car buying experience.

 

I chose a colour with ready stocks, got my coe the week i booked the car and got my car only a month later. The terrible part was that there wasn't any communication about what the hack was going on. Initially was told 2 weeks to get the car after i got the coe. On the week that i was supposed to collect the car, was told to wait another 2 weeks. No explanation given, no apologies from them, no compensation whatsoever. Next, when i traded in my car and handed over the car to them, was told i would receive a cheque to refund me for the trade-in within 5-6 working days. Waited an entire month before cheque finally came and again no good explanation (except a message from SE to say Republic Auto probably overlooked it), no apologies, no compensation or nothing at all to make good a situation which they screwed up. To me they are just not accountable at all. Probably my first and last time buying from C&C. Would probably spend my hard earned money elsewhere than to put up with such unethical behaviour.

 

That being said, enjoy your EC. I hope you have a better experience than me. Would have been nice if EC came with ACC and electric tailgate.

As long as book before price increase because of VES (e.g. ASX) then price stays and any increase will be absorbed.

Wow, most unfortunate experience you had with C&C. 

 

My current car was also bought from C&C and the whole process was a breeze. no issue at all. 

 

So very different experiences we have but let's see how mine pans out this time.

Congrats! That's gonna b quite a wait.. Booked mine in mid-Jan, got it in early Mar. And we thought the EC isn't selling too well. Well, guess bcos all the worldwide sales depend on a single factory in Japan making it? Anyway, good luck to ur COE bid n endure.. I mean enjoy ur wait..:) By the way, wat color did u order?

Oh that was unfortunate! Mine was quite smooth n my SE quite responsive n engaging, so quite a good buying experience in fact. Nevertheless njoy ur ride n hope the after-sales frm C&C makes up to u for it.. Cheers! PS. Agree fully on lack of ACC n electric tailgate on our local variant Edited by Jus4fun

Titanium Grey Metallic. I wonder what is the most popular colour choice amongst local EC buyers.

Traded in my car but I get to drive it till delivery of EC so no issue on the wait. I have more time to say goodbye to my current car.

 

Titanium Grey Metallic. I wonder what is the most popular colour choice amongst local EC buyers.

Now we know there r at least 2 Titanium Grey Metallic ECs owners in SG..

Anyone has this experience of sudden brake by the FCM when there is no near vehicle or obstacle in front apparently? It's actually very scary n dangerous (car behind bumping into u). I set my FCM to middle.. Pls share ur experience.. Thx

I've not experienced that. I set mine to near. In fact i was even wondering if the FCM is working. With my previous car, I've always experienced the FCM activating when i drive through carpark gantries when the gantry is on it's way up. But it has never seemed to happen on my EC. But my sensors do go off randomly on rainy days and sometimes i get a BRAKE warning when driving up slopes.
