Exactly you need to also see battery efficiency and in that aspect Tesla is probably the best

HIgh road tax is the bad news for Tesla Model 3

So the different is 1.3k and for 10 years is 13k. So if take in the selling price together, it is still cheaper to purchase Tesla

It depends on what's P2 PARF

From my guess, I think it will be much lower than Tesla. SInce in other country, P*2 is cost lesser than Tesla and P*2 in SIngapore is selling via AD, definitely AD want to earn profit so they will try to lower the OMV to avoid the ARF therefore the selling price can be so close to Tesla which is doing direct sale in Singapore. If the ARF is low after VES and EEAI, the PARF will left nothing much.

Actually battery capacity doesn't mean the whole thing. Bigger battery means the weight of the car is heavier and the motor need more energy to move the car for the same distance. Bigger capacity also means you need more time to charge to 100%. and also based on the paper Polestar 2 efficiency is 5.8km/kwh as for Tesla is 6.9km/kwh so after all the calculation, P*2 covers around the same distance as Tesla with fully charged even P*2 has bigger battery capacity.

so far I watched a few youtube review on P*2 vs Tesla model 3 standard range, it seems that the range covers more or less the same but the charging time for Tesla is shorter.

thanks for the info. On digging deeper, I see that 5.8km/kwh is indicated in sgcarmart specs... so by right, for a P*2 78kwh battery, does it means it can theoretically travel up to 5.8 x 78 = 452km? it doesn't no way near the figure of 540km (although this figure is ideal testing condition) as per polestar website. not sure if I am calculating correctly.  😅

Usable battery power is 75kwh.

LTA webby shows 5.08km/kwh.  That will be a range of 381km

anyone know how much is the PARF rebate after 10 yr for P*2 and Tesla model 3 SR and Tesla model 3 Performance?

I heard that the PARF rebate amount would be significantly lower due to the upfront VES & EEAI rebates...

Polestar 2 long range single motor has an OMV of ~$40,000 which translate to ARF of $3,000 (after $20K EEAI and $25K VES rebate), so PARF at EOL would be a pathetic $1,500.

Polestar 2 long range dual motor has an OMV of $57, 320 which translate to ARF of $30,176 (after $20K EEAI and $25K VES rebate), so PARF at EOL would be $15,088.

Tesla Model 3 standard range has an OMV of $59, 717 which translate to ARF of $34,491 (after $20K EEAI and $25K VES rebate), so PARF at EOL would be $17,245.

Tesla Model 3 Performance has an OMV of $72, 018which translate to ARF of $56, 663 (after $20K EEAI and $25K VES rebate), so PARF at EOL would be $28,331.

the range is pretty short.... as compare to using my ICE car which can travel 500+km per fuel tank..

so taking a Tesla Model 3 standard range of 144 W/km (lta website fuel cost calculator) which translate to ~6.9km/kWh, you are getting around 347km (6.9 x 50kwh battery power).

useful info for deciding on EV. I guess I have to lower my expectation on range. 😅

that means polestar 2 long range single motor depreciation will be a lot... 😱

Tesla Model 3 standard range depreciation will be about $17.7k Including higher road tax of $1.3k, it will be around $19k/annum.

P2 Single motor depreciation will be about $21.3k.

It is still a large gap btw both cars.

@inlinesix I think you paid more for road tax for Tesla but you can enjoy the horsepower that Tesla produced when you have the mood. At least that is something you can enjoy but P*2 you paid AD more money and yet you get nothing more from the them.

I would not spend even $60 for the beng looking yellow seat belt. Among all the option, the most useful might be the performance pack, which cost $6K iirc.

Boss, Performance Pack is NOT $6k option. It is a $12k option.

Yellow Beng seat belts, Ohlins manually adjustable coilovers, 20" alloys and Gold Brembos 😁

Went to see the P2 today. Was shocked that they don't even provide free charging at the showroom cause I stay nearby. The sales person even asked me back like that how you going to charge. Hahas

@Acegab haha.. see you no up cannot own P*2.

Tbh, tesla supercharger also need to pay now but I guess it does provide more charging location options vs P*2. Whether that means easier access to charging is a question mark since there are wayyy more tesla vs p*2 in Singapore as well.

But from a cost perspective, seems like it makes more sense getting a model 3 vs P*2 from the above calculations..
