@Spring

Game 4 5 7 8. Top drawers. Hee.

Agree with u on 4 (Belgium v Portugal), 5 (Spain v Croatia) and 7 (England v Germany).

Game 8 (Sweden v Ukraine) may not be up to the above 3 in terms of star players but these 2 teams are quite equivalent in standard and show good teamwork so a game that may go all the way to penalties I feel.

Looking at the road to the Final, I’m tipping Q/Finalists as follows:

Belgium v Italy, France v Spain

Sweden v England, Netherlands v Denmark

just for fun. any 1 remember this crazy game

I don’t remember this game but seeing the highlights, it was exciting with a lot of incidents which would hv been punished by VAR.

Van Bommel shld hv been shown a second yellow I think but the ref booked the wrong player if I saw correctly. Some of the tackles were X-rated!

Holland and defending champion Portugal crashed out...

likely Ronaldo's last Euro

a wise man said ball is round

anything can happen [thumbsup]

my theory is ... every game bet on "non favourable" team to win .. with better paying odds ... net net ... still win money

De Ligt was the CB every team wanted 2 seasons back. Juventus got him but he seems to hv gone backwards which is surprising as at Juventus, he had 2 experienced defenders in Chiellini and Bonucci to learn from n not to mention Italy is the home of the art of defending!

I doubt  cr7 will retire any time soon.

He need just 1 more international goal to break the record.

Exactly.  I dun understand why he choose to handed the ball.

Maybe like left 5 mins the ball is at the goalline going in. He got no choice but to take 1 for the team.

But this case its really stupid to get himself send off.

Can notice all the ref very strict.  Overall i feel the referring  is better  then epl standard

I had mentioned that those teams who started well don’t normally end up Champs n Holland prove that theory right last night!

Winner of England/Germany will now be favourites to reach the Final as they will play winner of Sweden/Ukraine in Q/F and then winner will meet winner of Denmark/Czech in S/F.

Other half of draw much harder with France, Spain, Italy n Belgium all in the running. Pick of the Q/F so far is Italy v Belgium!

He will try for next year WC and then after that I think time will be up for him so he will likely get the one goal required to break the scoring record but yes likely this will be his last Euro.

Agree the refereeing has been good overall but the red card to Wales v Denmark I don’t agree (2nd red card given to Wales unfairly in my opinion) n I don’t know why the ref gave yellow card to De Ligt at first only to be recommended by VAR to review. These the few inconsistencies but otherwise yes standard has been good n the VAR was more often than not (in fact, almost always) called correctly.

this is the red card. judging from all the comment , the reason its a red is cos wilsion had 0 chance of getting the ball, its a deliberate foul. i think he got a red for that, not for the seriousness of the tackle.

yah, he almost certainly will break the international goal record.. just a couple of international friendlies will do

on the other hand, i'm hoping Argentina will win Copa America so Messi can at least on par with CR7 at the international level

(but Argentina really quite cui)

both Portugal and Argentina also dun have much chance to win the WC
