Can see sterling making the stupid mistake that almost led to muller equaliser. Too high on his head after he gave eng the lead? This eng team too passive, 70% of their passes are back at their own half between def and gk. Sleepy to watch...

if anyone tot the previous night's 14 goals was a sign to come, running up to England's match, then would surely have gone the route of @Beregond, gone to sleep half-way through... 😆

England sure got ways to help cure insomnia. 

Most of the time, got 5-6 players behind the last German player (Werner). Kane was passenger in the match. I think his first touch came after more than 30 min... I thought he was going to be like Mbappe, big reputation (with Levy valuing him at just a bit less than Mbappe), and couldn't score... at least Mbappe got touch the ball many times...

And then instead, Kane emulated CR7... anonymous for 90% of the match, then pop up to score a goal when opponents tired/morale low...

Muller must bang balls... gifted a one-on-one, should equalise (and create some drama likely extra time, then if penalties, all the inklish players will run road...), but instead he missed and then became 2-0...

kane got a great chance when germany  make a bad pass. but his first touch from left leg let him down. ya like u say he whole game sleep through. spurs cannot demand 150m from this type of performance😂

that one was some pin-ball deflection that just nice went to him...

which is a feature of this tournament - seems to have quite a few mistakes resulting in good chances/goals for the opponents, or even own goals... that sterling assist to Muller was a case in point.

i think Foden, Rashford, Sancho, etc. must have all been praying the whole match that Kane's barren run will continue, then next match can bench him justifiably liao... Alas, they prayed so hard for 85 min, then must be towards the end, didn't focus enough, and so let Kane scored... Now southgate will have no reason to bench this highly-anonymous striker...

England had the so called easier path during WC 2018, they lost to Croatia in S/Final so not counting chickens yet

Ageing is a scary thing. In 2014, Germany won the WC with these world class players like Manuel Neuer, Hummels, Boateng, Sami Khedira, Schweinsteiger, Muller and Toni Kroos. We still see some of them in this Euro but they are now older and less physically imposing.

But to give credit to England, they are set up perfectly yesterday and they have good qualities coming from the bench. Quite interesting to see talents like Foden, Grealish, Rashford, Sancho and Mount waiting to join the game. When I first read the line-up, I thought England was being very defensive but they neutered the threats of Germany very well.

 saka  was quite ok on the right . should take out kane and put  Grealish in, and let sterling play a false 9.

As i mentioned, England play the pragmatic way as Southgate is conservative though he is not park the bus JM style of a coach. 3 CBs and 2 DMs plus 2 wing backs means only the front 3 are attacking n Saka was chosen over Foden, Mount, Grealish cos he is defensively strong though admittedly he can run at defenders as well so he deserved his place. Point is this kind of formation will bring results but put us to sleep admittedly.

The cries from the English media n fans to play Sancho, Grealish, Foden regularly falls on the deaf ears of Southgate as he is his own man. To be fair, England has steadily reached the last 4 of WC2018 (4th) n also the recent Nations League (3rd) so another S/Final place at least is the bare minimum expected. Since 1966, England has only reached last 4 of Euro1996 otherwise they hv always been k/o at Q/Finals or earlier so some progress has been made but not the way most neutrals would like ie attractive, winning football as England is supposedly the inventors of football so more is expected also as EPL has the biggest following.
