The new model has many features, but the typical Elantra buyer isn't going to want to pay for these..

The reason for choosing the S or basic model is because.. it's cheap. The 6 airbags are a bonus. Anything will increase the OMV and make the far too costly for them. Ask those who were told to top up. They are up in arms over 10k. It's a big deal for them and now IMO, they will look for cheaper cars, even if these cars have less safety features.

If the features are free, I'm sure there will be takers, but when the price goes up... well, that's another thing...

They must learn from TC.

TC, or i mean MI is the king of low OMV.

Nobody actually knows how did they make a 13k OMV for a spec similar to the Elite...

But USD is the issue in causing OMV of the Avante to bump by almost 1k since early this year.

Well there are some people who don't really bother about brand..I have seen people living in bungalow but driving Elantra. My boss is also one example...MD driving a Hyundai Tuscani..And another Deputy Director driving an Mitsubishi Attrage

This type of rich people must be very stingy even though they have lots of money. 😂

VES -10k.

So end of 10yrs,

base scrap value 3k

S scrap value 4.5k

Elite  scrap value 6k

If feel comfortable, then just go ahead.

Don't you also pay 10k less upfront. I don't really see why people always forget about this? Isn't ves rebate a good thing?

You don’t see this 10k less upfront but you can see the 10k less when you scrap the car on the 10th year. That’s the difference I think.

I believe most of the time 10k less upfront for the dealer doesn't mean exactly 10k less for buyer. To me best is neutral.

Since when did you pay less?Your 10k is makan by AD.

But for 10k divide by 10yrs is just 1k per year.

That's why I say if you feel comfortable, just go ahead.

I think that's not the point..Just putting across that there are some people with high earning power who would prefer to spend their money on other better items rather than car ba since it is a depreciating item

This I agree. My ex-AVP used to drive a Toyota Altis and my VP rides MRT to work.

Went down to view the car. Quality feels not bad, exterior also looks chic.

but have afew items missing from what is seen on youtube.

1. Smaller display

2. No ambient lighting

colour choice also limited to seat choice aw well.

IMO too over priced.. 107k for a car with most of its internal parts switched with cheaper parts... anyone know any PI where we can import the car?

Yes bro...By right the screen is 20.5" (10.25" odometer + 10.25" touchscreen)) but the one that is bringing in here is 1 x 10.25" odometer plus a non touch screen panel (think is 8")

Agree also there is no mood lighting for Singapore.

Highlighted to my SE about it and according to her..If we want all these features..The price will be higher

this is super disappointment..
they shld consider the elite model to have full suite of the best features... 😞
not like this kind of half half left right not reaching the shore.

komoco please listen: Leave the basic and S for budget conscious buyers with most basic possible features, while Elite series for best of the world for Hyundai fans in Singapore.

As far as I know, no PI brings in Korean cars.

Yes, I agree that the car is nice with nice touches.

I dont think there are any PIs for Hyundai cars here in Singapore.

Even the Elite variant without all those full suite of features we see in most of the Korean reviews is already 100k+. I think if you want all those features in, likely the price would not be able to compete further with the Tom Yum flavored sushi.
