I want to switch back again to Simba after my eight plan is finished.

Bcuz my home Simba data-only plan, now can get 5G. I assume they have installed a lot of 5G transmitters since then. 😁

Looks like simba is better than eight? Lol.

Only downside for SIMBA is their network is still not as good as the other 3 telco. Their overseas roaming is great, no complain. Recently they had a promo of topping up $20 you'll get another $20. Now I'm paying like half the price of the original plan - which is less than $10 for 500GB local, 25GB asia-pacific, 8GB overseas and 700mins talktime inclusive of IDD calls!!! 🤪

nope cannot be, Eight under Starhub network connection definitely much better and if you don't need 5G Eight is cheaper also.

Yeah, it's true, 5G may not be faster in some ways.

  • I have a 5G phone.
  • Simba coverage is good enough for me locally.
  • It'll be a 5G 150GB Senior plan for $5

Why not ?  😁

Simba is very aggressive nowadays.

And be reminded, Simba is a full telco, not MVNO. They have their own infrastructure and should be competing at Singtel, Starhub, m1, "price level", but they seemed to be competing with MVNO pricing.

Just makes me wonder, how many smaller MVNO will survive ? Due for a consolidation soon ?

I would be more cautious of simba since they are a telco but yet with so low prices. The rest of the mvno buy from bandwidth from Singtel starhub. Their cost is actually lower.
singtel starhub I’m sure have long recovered the cost of their 5G infrastructure.
8 mobile is actually owned by starhub. Somewhat like a scoot of SIA.

If they go belly up then just port over to another telco. Why worry?

Lose the 1-4-1 top up.

Usually when a gym, spa, sauna goes down this route to pre- pay and top up like this, a few months later gone, with cash surrendered 🫣

I tested at my place this morning 2x speedtest, using a single phone with dual SIM switching back and forth.

eight 4G - download 8Mbps, upload 8Mbps

Simba 5G - download 80Mbps, upload 6Mbps

eight upload wins. 😁

Gomo and Giga and owned by Singtel and Starhub respectively. Its just their no frills arm.

Simba indeed quite aggressive in getting their sales. They remind me of BYD, also aggressive in getting sales. Lol.
