Singtel - Starhub - M1 - Simba in terms of network reception. Tried and tested many MVNO. Using Eight now. M1 and Simba I'll avoid as main line.

My main line follow this order.

So far so good for Simba

You should just try switching off 5G. and stick with 4G for better coverage if you don’t need the speed.
although it can switch to 4G when there is weak 5G, you will experience some lag before it releases 5G and goes to 4G. The 5G coverage is not as good as 4G. Given that more base stations are needed.

I've used all these, switching between each often.

Singtel - Starhub - M1 - Simba in order of ranking in my opinion.

Avoid M1 and Simba if it's your main line. Starhub I feel almost on par with Singtel.

Just switched to 8. So far so good.

Due to my travels, I need voice roaming and a good data pack for Europe and China. This one seems to be the best option.

Simba, I heard too much feedback on connectivity issues.

Would monitor and share feedback here.

Only draw back that this is 4G but on Starhub network though.

Oh, two months free under promo too.

Just applied and porting one of my line over.. from MyRepublic as my son keep kpkb on the connection. Their 4G using M1 network while the 5G on Starhub.

Will go collect SIM card later.

Do i need to activate this temporary number? or wait till the porting is successful?

Upon collection it will automatically  activate. Jist slot into the phone, use (temp nos.) until it is successfully ported over. Within 24 hours if remembered correctly.

This is your first line with eight. Probably you might want to ask your son go download the 8 app.

Everything as per norm App; monitoring usage, renewal, upgrade..etc.

wait till the original sim no signal, usually happens at the middle of the night, then pop in the new one, new sim may still use the temp number for another few hours till they update at the backend.

Use up your $8 plan entitlements first before upgrade

Otherwise all wiped out and entitlements will reset to the new plan and new expiry date

can renew back to the $8 plan after $11.80 plan expires
