Since i am planning few trips this year, i went ahead and got one for the promo price. Will try it when i go malacca next month for qingming, then Taiwan in May and other short trips.
Albeniz Turbocharged September 3, 2023 Share September 3, 2023 I find that I am getting in and out of JB more often these days. When I am going to Malaysia, I will activate my Singtel 1GB roaming data plan for $5, and it runs out real fast. Are there other options for me? Can I take a cheaper plan in Malaysia? I am using a maxis hotlink prepaid, sim cost RM10, extend one year validity cost RM30, internet pass 5GB cost RM10. there are some cheaper one, you can go find.

Folks, let me provide an update: 1. I was at Sutera Mall (JB) and got the hotlink package at their Maxis shop. 2. RM10 for the SIM card + RM43 for 80Gb of data for 30days. Need to top up by the 50th day else the SIM card will expire. 3. Able to call local numbers in Malaysia too (but I didn't try this yet, it is more for emergency). 4. Tested tethering from laptop to the phone, it works! That means I can do work from one of their kopi tiams now. No need to find starbucks. Hope this helps!

Hope this helps! wow...80GB per 30days, heavy data user.. anyway the 50 days thing is the inactive period, which can't do anything except receive calls and SMS, you can use the hotlink app to check the sim validity, any top up or purchase of internet plan should extend the validity somehow, also occasionally one may find some good deals or promo from the app, some months ago i chanced upon one, top up RM30 get additional RM10 credit. and now got something like petronas RM10 voucher for RM0.99.... ↡ Advertisement
