Noob question here....if say a person owns a plate eg. SMA **** B

if in LTA's plate registry, there is no other  number with SA **** B, can the person apply (pay) to drop the M from the suffix?

Short answer is: NOPE.

First of all, SMA **** B and SA **** B is from different series, which will have different checksum for the same no.  Example:

SBB 8888 T      SBJ 3333 T

SB 8888 S         SJ 3333 S

Next, each and every VRN is unique and can only be registered on 1 car at any point of time. And once the VRN is deregistered (owner did not apply to retain the number), it cannot be re-registered on another car again.

For private car plate, it cannot be re-registered on another car again once the plate is deregistered. But for taxi car plate, seems like the car plate is re-cycle or reuse, true?

This this confirm rare, only 100 EVS available for Singapore made Ioniq 5.

 

This is the 2nd EVS I spotted, the other was EVS22B, at Pasir Ris, but no photo as I am driving.
