Situated right in the HDB estate, a local artist has transform a plain looking and boring void deck into an interesting art museum, bringing residents and visitors back to the future. Kudos to Mr. Yip! 👍

This HDB Void Deck In Woodlands Drive 62 Has Kampong & Gardens By The Bay-Inspired 3D Art

For those seeking IG-worthy backgrounds, you’ll want to pay Woodlands Drive 62 a visit. Nestled in Woodlands are the murals painted by local artist Yip Yew Chong, and these have been split into 3 themes.

Start your visit with a game of snakes and ladders – but this time, you’re the game piece.

At the Modern & Futuristic City zone, you’ll see 2 eye-catching pillars that resemble the iconic Gardens by the Bay Supertree Grove. Tying in the sci-fi vibes are the orb-like baubles floating around a metropolis – think Wakanda IRL.

Adding some greenery to the space is the paddy field illustration, where you can see rows of vegetables being grown in the soil. We may not know what kind of veggies that is, but they sure look fresh.

Then, mosey on over to the Nature zone where you’ll spot portraits of common animals in Singapore. We’re talking about the long-tailed macaques, great egrets, and small-clawed otters. No need to keep your distance with these wildlife as they won’t jump on you.

There are also giant jackfruit trees that adorn the pillars. You can pose next to the ginormous fruits and snap a tonne of pics, since it’s unlikely that most of us can grow such luscious loot in our backyards.

Check out the mock living room that sports a retro television, old-school wooden chair, and the sarong cradle that most millennials have slept in. We can’t forget the chou chou – AKA comfort pillow – found on the floor, and a peaceful sleeping kitty which kinda looks like TSL’s office cat Pika.

There’s also a living room area complete with a tingkat and traditional food, placed atop the classic green-marbled table and chair. With the illustrations looking realistic, you can almost imagine what it was like having dinner at one of these kampong houses.

Not many of us were around during the peak kampong days, using charcoal to cook in the kitchen and having simple home decorations. Set in contrast to the futuristic section is the Farmland & Kampong zone, where young’uns can get a glimpse of the chill kampong life.

Nice.

I recently went to the 3D art museum at Langkawi beside the Skycab (cable car). Pretty decent for something that is part of the cable car package.

When I got married I promised wifey when we are old I will get a place by the beach and she can wake up to a beautiful sea view.

Things haven't worked out and I am not as rich as I was hoping to be.

The used car biz is a big fat zero profit just like H BeeDees club and the massage biz all these young ladies show me is very small tips!

Anyway we are old now I like to keep my promise and maybe I can get this for the bedroom wall.

MIL always say her daughter married a poor man and his home is very small and squeezy.

Its true my home is so small there are no wifi dead zones and I switch on wifi I can see more than a dozen of my neighbours signal.

Anyway I am getting this so I can say to MIL

See, look how much spacious my place looks!
