Forest deducted 4 points for FFP.

City still no winds at all?🤔

hope the verdict would be fair despite the apparent legal bullying involved. if these minor infringement on PSR is worth 4 pts deduction... any of the key indictment charges against City would mean alot more in terms of the penalties. Pool has ran City close for at least 3 seasons in the EPL and will surely been not on level playing field if City has not played it properly in terms of its financial manipulation, if any.

James Gomez.

Physically he might be able to do it. How about mentally? Can he switch around every game? During match?

Klopp overused Gomez imo. He will burn out pretty soon. Haiz....

This match right back. Next match left back, CD, during match switch to DM.

Every position has it specific skillset. Mentally it would be stressing for gomez.

no manager loves losing.. the emotions involved may be useful to plot a revenge game plan come the EPL fixture in a few weeks time. Pool has 10 finals in the EPL to play. win every game and it is almost certain Pool will be crowned champions.  There is no longer any distraction from the FA Cup and the Europa quarters and semis looks sorted out due to the quality of oppositions.

True. No manager loves losing. That doesn't stop him from taking defeat graciously.

An exit is always painful. But to manure is definitely a much bitter pill to swallow.

the manner of defeat is bitter pill to swallow lah... how did Pool managed to lose the game? it was mistakes and very poor game management from some of the players.. maybe some level of fatigue is creeping into the players either physically or mentally, which is not hard to understand why.

Klopp is very forgiving when a player makes a mistake.

But he himself made the mistake of not subbing out earlier and that's why he is so hard on himself.

I think he feels he let the side down.

Exactly.

I am perfectly fine if Pool lost becos they were being outplayed by a better team.  But Pool led twice and Man U in the end had to resort to players like Bruno being a CD and Anthony being a left back....

And Pool lost!

The manner they lost simply defies logic...

He's like any other men...gets old...he knows the pressure on him as aging man...as a manager of a world top fc...with the players available for his different game plans...the kind of passionate fans at Anfield...not easy to stay cool headed all the time...that's why he needs the much needed break...i pray for the best of him and the club this season...league title please...europa is just the icing on the cake 🙏😁

I read an article somewhere that Klopp leaving because FSG refused to fund Klopp recommendation of signing Jude Bellingham last summer. :lll._.:

The sour friendship already broken with FSG (Hendry) as we can see that both doesn't appear together in matches since September 2023. :wut:

Klopp decided to break the news about his leaving Liverpool after his family had shifted back to Germany in early January. Wife and children are back in his hometown.  :slow:

Sporting Director Edward left Pool after some disagreements with Klopp and now Hendry decide tit-for-tat by bring Edward back as CEO which means more power over Klopp with transfers decisions making. Klopp was given full power to decide on players transfers when he signed in October 2015. :=B:

The coach picked the players and if the players can't perform... I guess the coach has to take some blame..

And we go back to the question of: why field a very strong side for Europa League when we have one foot in the quarters.

He took a gamble trying to win both the 2nd leg against Sparta and FA Cup tie against Man U with a strong side. It didn't work out.

there was never public or personal tensions between Klopp and the owners so take this with a pinch of salt.  Jude Bellingham was never the type of player Klopp will eventually buy due to the high price tag and salary plus fact that he needed to rebuild the entire midfield.  once the money doesnt make sense, Klopp usually concedes, not sure willingly or otherwise. One thing for sure, Klopp never whines (as much as fans do) on not being able to spend.

With Edwards, there have already been signs of differing views in the past on the retention of older players which Klopp are loyal to.  these have been well documented and it may be true that the renewal of Hendro was the final straw for Edward to move on.  Other than that. nothing is news anymore.

Think i read somewhere that the head coach is given the power to decide/veto which player to sign. Make sense as the head coach will need to decide who to play in each game.

The process probably starts by the head coach deciding the type of players he wants. The other members of "transfer committee" will study stats and go scouting for players fitting the bill and the budget. A shortlist will be drawn up and the head coach will decide who to sign and whether to sign (considering his transfer kitty). Thus, the player signed will be someone shortlisted by the committee and approved by the head coach.

This is to prevent another episode of the panel deciding on Firminho while the coach insisted on Benteke..

Looks like Richard Hughes will be announced today.. honestly never heard of him before except he is good friend with Edward's.

Anyway, though I am no fan of FSG (too stingy) but I like the idea of appointing a head of football operations (and technical director) before eventually deciding on a coach...

Without crazy injection ofo cash, we need to sell old players (get money in return) and sign promising upcoming players.. we are not trying to be a selling club but should not be afraid to sell.

Edwards need to think of how to expand the pipeline to attract talent beyond our youth academy. Maybe it's time to look at investing in Eastern European or South American or even Asian clubs.

with the profit and sustainability rules now biting into various clubs' positions, FSG may argue and make a case that what it has been advocating all these years of stringent financial fair play measures.   This will be even more justified if we see a equitable penalty be melted out for City.
