Thanks for the inputs.... I still dont seem to understand.... so meaning to say that is such  "crude oil" be used for combustion / engine generation /propulsion ??

LOW SES fuel but slightly better than bitumen

It came from crude oil … after fracking the crude oil in the refinery , this is like that leftover byproduct … just 1 grade higher than the leftover bitumen used for roads …

it's not crude oil
generally, either MFO or MDO
- marine fuel oil
- marine diesel oil

but yes, on the heavy scale for distillates.

Nope , not distillates for sure , those leak out are very low sulphur fuel oil , and fuel oil are all residual fuel … big difference in compound and density … distillates will be much easier to clean up as compared to residual fuel …

notice the label "heavy"?

FYI distillates are commonly split into 3 categories - light, medium, heavy

http://1worldenergy.com/heavy-distillates/

What Are Heavy Distillates

Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) is a category of fuel oils of a tar-like consistency identified as a “worse case substance”. Also known as bunker fuel or residual fuel oil, HFO is the result or remnant from the distillation and cracking process of crude oil. For this reason, HFO is contaminated with several different compounds including aromatics, sulfur and nitrogen, making emission upon combustion more polluting compared to other fuel oils

Didn’t know bunker fuel is like rocket science fuel ….. I wish its just simple diesel …… so I can scoop it up to power up my Laopok forklift 😇😇😇

Dun think that is the correct term for fuel oil for sure … I do make a living trading bunkers worldwide for the last 20 years … never had I spoken to anyone , buyer , brokers or sellers world wide that calls fuel oil heavy distillates as distilliates are mainly the gas oil in the bunker trade / shipping industry ..

These are the specs that are internationally recognised and used by all oil companies and shipping companies …

latest update version will be 2024 version

The above not nice meh?

Anyway, many people would want an unblocked view, no matter what is infront of their house. Like many HDB has so called unblocked view, but most need to pay a price for the unblocked view by having a road/expressway infront of their blk. Everyday can hear the noisy traffic sound from the road.

Nice.. direct route for diesel smoke to reach your home as well hahahaha

heavy distilates are residuals

instead of splitting hairs over terminologies, i'm more interested to know how PSA/MPA allowed this leak (only 400 tonnes or so) to spread to the extent it has, and what measures they will take to minimise effects of future leaks. From the graphics in the report, it seems that approximately 1/4 of SG mainland coast + Sentosa + Southern Islands have been affected, to varying degrees. The incident's proximity to SG mainland is a double-edged sword - the leaked fuel spread along SG's coast quickly but would also have allowed for quicker response by containment assets.

Need to pay some price to have an unblocked view. Difficult to find a house with unblocked view and yet don't give some bad points. Even those house with unblocked view of nature reserve or trees, also have monkeys, more mozzies and all sort of flying insects going into your house, also birds noisy sound.
