I rented the 2.5L Hybrid  4 June in my Hokkaido trip already fèlt under power, can't imagine how the Alphard drive.

When I back home from Hokkaido,  my XT suddenly become so light. 😂

But the hybrid “bus” probably drinks 30% less fuel.
with power need to drink more. Vw efficient engines can drink less but uplorry earlier.

E6 is the commercial variant of M6. I see it more for PHV operators since it is lesser equipped (e.g. no moon roof) and the exterior look different from the M6.

Actually the Japanese has been doing the same for some of their domestic model.

oh ok. i don't usually look at the roof differences. I'm also not so sensitive to the changes in the facade also.

If cheaper can consider lol.

There was no M6 predecessor (at least sold abroad). So i thought the E6 just evolved into M6. Just whether commercial spec or consumer spec.

BYD confuse people. No one would know what is the difference between e6 and m6? To me it is the same.

Others make/model if have differences on equipment like sunroof etc, their model name still the same, but they differentiate by different variant, like standard or elegance etc.

Comparison between cat A 5+2 seaters with 16k depre.

Freed
Price
Current price non guaranteed 6 bid 169k.
Price fixed whether loan or full cash. Loan is 2.68% interest.
Coe 92.7k
Omv is 20k. Scrap value is around 8+k.
Depre therefore is around low 16k/yr

Colors: Seabed blue and sonic Grey
No more HS7 trim.
Only trim will be HE7 (higher trim)
 - ACC with low speed follow and braking mitigation. Walk away auto lock, dual power doors. rear aircon, leather seats

Warranty
Hybrid battery warranty 200k km or 10 years.
3 yr free servicing. 5 years unlimited mileage warranty.

Pros
2nd and 3rd row Bench cushion is quite thick. Floor higher same as m6. But legroom is adequate to stretch out.
Steering has good weight and accurate compared to byd. Low city speed not completely silent though.
Very easy to access 3rd row with the foldable seats. 3rd row is more comfortable than m6.
But less boot space with all 3 rows up.

Cons
*No BSM (also no lane watch)
*Poor arm rests
 - No arm rest due to sliding door for middle row
 - Driver and front passenger arm rest is too skinny. Not comfortable.
*Boot access more troublesome due to the boot door size. No power tailgate I think.

Freed digital screen has a nice graphic to show if everyone is buckled up. It shows all 7 seats position with tick or cross for seat belt safety. Very good for those with kids.

I mention before, E6 is used mainly as a transport service. In China a lot of DiDi using E6, even here you are seeing Grab using E6. The new and the older model.

While the M6 is heavily base on E6, just making it more luxury.  But speedo meter still look ĺike analogue which is a bit dated for today standard.

Ok i clarified with the SE.
It's on the brochures but not for sale to retail.

E6 only sold to commercial. She said also not hua. There's no cruise control stuff etc besides no moonroof.

I don't really care about dated haha. In fact i think people are more used to it. But i do agree that the TFT becomes a bit crowded due to the size. Harder to see all the symbols etc.

Freed is as per honda style. It's really like 10  times more easy for those older folks to use. The buttons, screen and everything is easy ++ to operate.

Probably M6 just by the arm rest thing. A good arm rest is damn crucial to me.The freed's arm rests are so skinny. It's about 60% of the ones u find on airline seats.

And i can't accept a safety package without BSM which is the one feature  u use every single day.

I'm writing down my detailed thoughts, cos I will only move if COE drops significantly.
I may greatly benefit from going back to having a 2nd car for work next year, but for this year, it's just purely a want.
And high chance that then the showrooms are crowded, need to make a decision quickly. And I may have forgotten most of it, so just write down like blog lor.

I've probably watched most of the car review videos out there on these 2 cars.

Does the safety ratings matter to you too? I wonder how the m6 compares to the freed in terms of safety, considering that the freed is almost never tested on ncap. Byd m6 isn't tested too, though the other BYD models like the seal, atto 3 have been well tested and have rated well.

Good question.

I think the vans are decently built for their size. The original Gen 1 freed got a 2016 JNCAP 5 star. So it can't be too bad.
https://www.nasva.go.jp/mamoru/en/assessment_car/detail/120#result_list01

That being said, JNCAP works like at glacial speeds. There's not even any results for 2025 yet... Lol.

More likely to topple over from a full high speed side collision though as there won't be any battery weight at the bottom like a M6.

M6 would definitely be safer cos more crumple zone. All things being equal.
