e.mas7 is now assembled in Malaysia as a CKD from Geely, so parts quality should be better than native proton of yesteryears.. it also comes with cross border warranty so can also go proton Malaysia service centers if got problem.  Local servicing for proton is by Vincar, so probably same level of service and support as for Aion.  Personally I have more confidence in Eurokars for servicing and support for MG.

@Tkseah If Proton and Aion are both under Vincar, then the workshop and servicing quality will be the same.

Me too looked at MG because I felt Eurekars has been AD for longer and more trustworthy / reliable than Vincar as AD. But I have no evident to prove either way, so is just gut feeling.

@DOBIEMKZ  @Lala81 Yes the Aion SE mentioned windscreen and both front windows are double glazed.

@DOBIEMKZ what you wrote/found on Aion V vs MG S5 on NVH and ride comfort are inline with what I experienced. My bum sensor working well.

Road noise might be more in MGS5. Aion V seems like feel and look better in terms of the interior, features and materials than MGS5.

But overall depends on what you want. I think MGS5 and Aion V each has their own good points.

@13177 fully agree each of MG S5 and Aion V has its own supporters, really boils down to what the buyer wants.

Having double glazed windows definitely makes the car more quieter and nicer ride. But are there many cars out there comes with double glazed windows?

Even though Eurokars has been AD for very long, but not sure if MG would be taken good care for their car servicing?

Maybe for high spec or more ex chinese EVs will have them?!

Those entry level or cheaper Chinese EVs might not have them?

Cannot expect all to have due to costs and budget levels, even within the same family brand. For examples.

Aion V : Has a laminated soundproof front windscreen and a double-layered acoustic glass for the front row side windows.

Aion Y Plus. Has a laminated soundproof front windscreen, but no double-layered acoustic glass for the front row side windows.

Aion UT. No laminated soundproof front windscreen and no double-layered acoustic glass for the front row side windows.

The above info was given by Google. Need to check with VinCar.

Another point to consider is Aion V is FWD and MGS5 is RWD.

Did you consider the new Jaecoo 5? I just saw this car, looks good in white colour.

honestly no clue if double glazed windows are rare or common on cars.

AD != good care, this I agree. Borneo is AD but quality of their car servicing is so so.

Car servicing doesn't have to be great lah.. but I wan AD that will honour the warranty if something spoils, rather than finding excuses claiming this and that is wear and tear not covered by warranty etc...

The Jaecoo 5 looks good indeed. It's about the size of a Range Rover Evoque and its side profile also looks similar to to that Range Rover.
It's also fwd.
It can be a good alternative. It selling at a lower price but it is in Cat B coe and also higher road tax.

Mini is the best for warranty claims.  At the end of 2nd year, I asked SA to check car battery.

Car battery was replaced under warranty.

I find the Jaecoo 5 seats a bit too firm for comfort. The Cat B power is there though so a plus point if u love the acceleration.  The additional road tax is around $300 more per year compared to Cat A, so still not prohibitive.

Same experience. I had weird problems after a year plus and sent my MINI in; problems solved within half a day and they say "We'll replace your battery under warranty just to cover all bases!" That's why MG mentally rank rather high on my list when I am ready to go electric.

Nowadays, shopping for a Chinese EV more choices than shopping for a Chinese handphone.

Find this Jaecoo 5 quite funny. Price is low and yet it is in Cat B coe. Is there any other EV in the market is Cat B coe and the price range is below 180k?
