Bring workshop to remove CAT for deep cleaning if after using additive cleaner doesnt work

Know any shops here still do snowfoam cleaning of cat?

I suspect most shops nowadays clean only the sensor and then say it's a bad sensor or need to replace either it or the cat...easier job and can earn more...😅

Not foamcleaning....its using machine and pressure to clear out your CAT.

Ever cleaned mine at GOODFELLAS AUTO located at Soon Lee Pioneer area.

provided the cat is not dead

if the error code is caused by heavy sooting, cleaning will restore its functionality

if the cat is dead, a cleaned dead cat is still a dead cat

last time my Getz's cat dead at around 250,000km

I just kept clearing the code until I traded it in for another car, engine ran smoothly, no funny smell no change in fuel consumption too

W204 traded in at 280,000km, cat sui sui, no trouble

No bad smell No lost of FC No lost of Power? Probably is just sensor faulty problem. CAT has 2 sensors, one located at upstream and one downstream.

One of the way to clean carbon deposits inside the cat  is to spray cleaning detergent directly on to the cat filter / element via the sensor opening. The process will have to be don a few times to break down  the carbon . Removing the carbon is by running the engine / cat very hot and blow the carbon out by high acceleration.
