This summer, our spending is unprecedented.

And it looked like there's still more to come. Often, us fans will lament that our targets get hijacked due to better fees or salary. But this time, we appears to set the tone.

Is FSG building a super team that will dominate the next 3-5 years?

We might break the record. 

Liverpool, who won the league by 10 points last season, are top of the list with £269m spent so far this summer.

The top three in that statistic all came from last summer's window, where Chelsea spent £404.4m (463m euros), Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal spent £307.7m (353m euros) and Champions League winners Paris St-Germain paid out £305.1m (350m euros).

With VVD and Salah both getting older, they might be good for another season or two at most. After that, will certainly need able replacements. 

The last 7-8 years have been good/great, and we need that to continue.

Newcastle United are reportedly considering a move for Darwin Nunez in a fresh turn in the striker battle they’re currently fighting with Liverpool.

Nunez has already been tipped to depart Anfield this summer and a move to Tyneside could benefit all parties. Playing for a club with lower expectations than Liverpool could be just what the Uruguayan needs to reignite his goalscoring form.

Liverpool could also decide to include Harvey Elliott in an effort to sweeten the deal. The young midfielder is known to be angling for regular game time and would enjoy a new lease of life at Newcastle, who could reap the rewards of his attacking talents.

Elliott would also bring a high resale value, potentially allowing the Magpies to make a big profit further down the line. Liverpool could throw in a bonus by not including a sell-on clause, meaning every penny from a future sale would go to Newcastle.
