Brass compression rings. I dunk a couple in bag of new plants as the copper in them kills off unwanted snails.

Setup rojak 113 litres tub for the guppies. Throw in pepper Cory, Amano shrimps but some were gone hmm,  a few zebra snails but somehow no where in sight. The so called $1 guppies are more hardly than the more expensive fancy strained guppies like the red dragon variants, these died after few days. Tub should be cycled since 0 ammonia 0 nitrate. However ph abit too high for guppies around 6.8 due to aqua soil substrate. Later throw  in a bag of coral chips  to beef it up. Only use sponge filter for the fliteration🤣

Guppies are longkang fish. Very hardy. They are also good indicator of water parameters. Once you see them gulping for air at the water surface you know something's wrong with the water.

I have PTSD after mixing male and female together. From 2 f and 1 male spread to 70 over in like 2 years. Now I just keep male ones.

I tried biological culling manually.

But last few months haven't had problems controlling the bladder snail problem. The population somehow kept in check by I dunno what.

The pair of nerite snails had some eggs which look bit unsightly but I accept it as part of an ecosystem. Now only left one I think. The other may have died.

I had three or four assassin snails which I put into the tank. I know one is dead cos the shell is in the front part of my tank. But dunno what happened to the rest.

Basically my tank is just a stable equilibrium now. Other than my amazon swords wilting and the moss also melted likely due to water temp.

Nowadays fiberglass tank comes with viewing window. I just use the storage box from muji. My plan for the tub is to build an ecosystem without mechanical filter, no water change like those in the nature. Using terrestrial plants as filters. Currently using lucky bamboo and pothos. Thinking of sweet potatoes next🤣

I don't recall any terrarium things. They have some water plants etc but i find their setup a bit messy.

East Ocean maybe more expensive, but it's a much nicer experience shopping for plants there.

They also have quite a bit of gold fish which I don't care much for.

wow reef tank, been to iwarna aquafarm who specialises in marine. You can try there. They offer plug and play reef tank with protein skimmer. One thing about reef tanks, you need to get the water directly from the farm🤣
