As this car needs "hotter" plugs to be more efficient. Am wondering has anyone tried these 2 items in combination before, and what was the end result? Any improvements, minor or drastic? Would also appreciate it if anyone can advise on where to find them @ the cheapest price. 1. NGK: BK R5 ES 2. Caltex: 5W-ES (energy saving oil) Btw, is the Caltex oil fully synthetic? Check the black diary that Tan Chong gives. I have been getting the parts from: Fong Tat 353 Serangoon Road. Ordinary copper spark plugs cost around $2.50 a piece. Koolaba 1st Gear August 22, 2003 Share August 22, 2003 Yup my ride is the B14 Sunny (see my avatar) I am currently using NGK Iridium Spark Plugs.NGK BKR5EIX-11. Stock plug is copper electrode NGK BKR 5E-11. Copper plugs are cheap compared to iridium and platinum ones. I'd rather change copper plugs more often than go for high performance plugs. If you are interested in platinums, you can try finding for NGK 5EIX or 6EIX plugs. Denso plugs are not so suitable for Sunny as the gap is too wide. Here is the nick if you are interested let try out together. Also hear that the NGK BKR5EIX-11 is 1.1 mm gap is not right for Sunny Engine. 0.8~0.9 should be right.
