Won't go to jail, won't bankrupt one. Liability is on the company. Earn money is company earn. Lose money also company lose. Once the company close shop, end of story.

 

If have to go to jail or declare bankrupt, a lot of shareholders and CEOs of companies will be either lining up to go to jail or go bankrupt....

 

Catch what ? The boss has openly said the company ran into financial problem. He will go to jail. A few years later he will emerge like a hero after he is released. But the financial damage to those who have paid deposit using their hard earned money is irrecoverable
nearly a million dollars got evaporated over night, how could he simply declare bankrupt ?

Unless there is finding of clear evidence showing he intended to commit fried, only then he will be charge. But i think the finding will only indicated this as business failure.

If there is any evidence that the boss know that he cannot pay his supplier for the car before he ask for full downpayment or full payment from his customers, this will be criminal breach of trust which he can be charge and jailed if find guilty. So the question is that will his supplier testify in court that the boss know that he cannot pay for the cars and yet he still ask for the payment.

 

But even if the boss goes to jail, only the company becomes bankrupt but the boss if still got money under his personal asset will not be make bankrupt as Pte Ltd company, the liability is only up to the pay up capital or what the company is worth ./ asset the company own.

I DON'T THINK POLICE WILL TAKE ANY ACTION!

 

They classified this as breach of contract! Why? simply put across from our friendly police, the owner did not run away!

 

Even going to SG State Court to See the Magistrate doesn't help. One party push to another party....Wayang to the Max. Spoke to the Punggol GRC MP, just write a letter to motor traders association - for what? To make it better ....Secretary of Motor Trader Association says, is the MP smoking weeds? This not their f**king problem....why the government never take action? Police never take action?

 

BTW, exodus global are link to a few well established PI and workshop -> don't think you are safe buying from the PI!!!!!!!

 

This is the type of entrepreneurship our government encouraged!!!!

All evidence given to police and they not going to do anything! all to most of victim are being ask to pay up in July-August for car delivery - after payment, no cars and all excuse from LTA paperwork issue to whatever.......This is all well planned for by the owner of exodus.............

 

SG Police don't like difficult cases lah. Easiest is to catch speeding on road and earn fines... still can show profit to ministers and justify promotion.

 

But yes buying from any PI is quite a gamble... those who gamble do take the risk lor.

Car House safe or not?

I was holding back to write to this thread, but in the interest of sharing my stupidity so that others will be better, I will write my experience with a certain PI located in Bukit Merah.

 

The sales person was very professional, and quite pleasant in the beginning.  But the whole buying experience turned out to be very sour, and I regretted some of my stupidity, and here's what went wrong :

 

1) I did not check that a COMMIT date of delivery of the vehicle on the contract, as I gave them almost 4-5months lead time, silly of me to think this is "safe".  The car kept delaying, and each time I called and visited, I was pushed from one person to another as the original sales person left the company.  Empty promises, and asked me to call LTA with some rubbish tel numbers provided.  Reasons ranging from LTA's import inspection, etc.   The REAL reason was actually, they DID NOT order my car in time, even when I gave a massive lead time for them.  The impression I got was they were full of condescending sales ppl, especially the boss. Diversion tactics they are number ONE, I came to conclude.

 

2) The scrap value given to my old car's body was ZERO.   I was stupid enough to sign on the document, where the scrap value of the car was left blank.   I realized this, and asked for a change, but was refused.  I asked to scrap the car myself, and again, was refused.  I was so angry with this, and I decided to strip off whatever I can before sending in the vehicle.  In the end, the old car decided to do itself justice by breaking down and smoking from the engine bay 3 days before sending in, and it was hardly drivable.  

 

3)  The options for the car again was left blank.  I was again silly enough not to have them written down.  The seats turning out to be MANUALLY adjusted, and not electric, and no keyless entry as well.  This was again my silly self. 

 

4)  When collecting the car (after a almost 2 months delay, and bus taking),  the solar film and the 3M carpet was NOT done up.  I called WEEKS ahead, and left messages to remind them that they should MAKE SURE all these are done.  Again, was told YES YES YES, but turned out to be lies.   Had to send in the car weeks later to another shop to get the film done.  And the 3M carpet turned out to be some rubbish carpet.  I gave up in the end, knowing that at the least, the solar film commitment is fulfilled.

 

5) The "warranty" booklet is some rubbish photocopy on thin green paper.  A lot of things are NOT under warranty, and when questioned, was told to ask the workshop directly.  Another diversion tactic.  Very questionable warranty "policy".  FYI, they were sued by previous buyers for post purchase issues, and they were on the top of the list for customer complains on the CASE website for a lot of compounded issues.  I only found out AFTER.  So again, I was silly.

 

The lesson learn here is, PLEASE ENSURE everything is is black and white.  And NEVER believe ANYTHING they shoot out of their mouth.  Clearly list down commit date, and if no commit, what is the resolution plan.  List down all car options, and warranty covered.  BEFORE signing that is.   Check all avenues on PI's credentials, and CASE website for prior complains if any. 

 

Yes, they are cheaper, but I will AVOID them at ALL COST.  Very distasteful experience, but partially for my own fault to be so trusting.

I feel sorry for you borther but at least you get your car and some not. I think I've posted somewhere that I've never trust PI for buying a car, you pay what you gets. I rather pay little more to get it from the Agent.  Of course there are some brothers who goes to PI becuase certain car model is not available from the local Agent.

seem like buying from PI need to monitor them like house renovation contractor, you need to see the progress every day and give instruction every day until make sure everything get done. Every payment must see the progress work done

there is some obvious element of fraud here...one forumer said delivery was delayed since CNY 2016. That means PI were already in financial difficulty since early this year. If they keep demanding other buyers to pay balance amount without the intention of delibery - its obviously cheating. Police can see the records if they ever delivered any vehicles this year. . The more police delay , the harder the chance of any monetary recovery. ..
