If you use an european headlight aimer chance your ride will not make through headlight alignment test in the inspection centre.

Park car about 10 feet away from a wall. Switch on high beam, the rule of thumb - the beam should shin 5deg downward and 5deg towards the driver left side

read thru 6 pages. still no exact specifications on how to adjust the beam to meet inspection specifications.

5 degree a bit hard to measure for light beam. no?

any more, erm... better, definitive way to do the adjustments?

It's very diificult to adjust modern day cars headlights with simple european design workshop headlight aimers let alone using a target board drawn on the wall.

PS Photo shows a Japanese version of head tester/aimer for workshop use

hmmm... so in this case, there is no way for us to know if the headlights is properly adjusted until we go for inspection?

Currently , vehicle test centres does conduct headlights alignment and brightness tests and will consider a major fault of the overall test if only the headlight fails the luminous test.
