Hi bros

It's been quite some time since my last message. Rest assured that I have been reading the postings here.

Anyway, I was on leave yesterday. Went with my wife to Auto Megamart and visited Hyundai showroom. Was considering the Elantra, but wife didn't like the design. It's individual taste. To me, the car looked okay. So we casually asked about the Sonata's latest price and were surprised that the price had dropped to $88,888. That got me interested as I put off buying Sonata as I'm not willing to pay above $90k for it. Talked to the salesman further and then we went for a test drive. It was one experience I will not forget and more or less confirmed my decision to buy the car.

The car was very quiet, even when I rev it past 4000. It was stable with powerful pickup. Didn't try the ABS as I didn't want to frighten my wife. Overall, I was very impressed. As for my wife, she was only interested in the car's exterior. She loved it. The only complaint from her was the interior is about the same as my current Ford Laser (1998 model).

David, the salesman, told me the car could be collected within 12 working days.

I am counting the days. Still have 11 working days to go....

Also, congrats on getting your car - I'm sure you will love it [thumbsup][thumbsup]

I meant to say my wife's complaint was the size of the Sonata's interior is about the same as my current Ford Laser.

She's of the opinion a 2L car should be bigger than a 1.6L in all aspects.

So she expects a 4L car to be as big as a lorry!!!

It's heartening to know I've made the right choice. Can't wait to collect the car.

By the way, it's my first first-hand car. All along, I have been driving second-hand. Started with Daihatsu Charade, then Dawoo Racer, followed by my present Ford Laser. I have enough of old cars. They become problematic after 1 to 2 years of driving.

Hiya Hensony,

Yeah, getting and owning a brand new car is miles different from an used one.... trouble free motoring for at least the first 5-6 years except routine wear n tear.... well, i go the other way round coz my friends / relatives usually offer their well kept cars for me to buy over.... at least i know the history of the cars.... save me heaps of $$$$....

Join us un our meetup .... [:)]

cheers

Hi Hensony,

Congrads on your new carthumbsup.gif. I too did considered the Sonata last Sep when my Alfa was about to be scrap. Almost paid deposit but last minute back out & bought the Civic VTi At $87,988, Sonata H-matic was $88,888 at that time.thumbsup.gif

Two reasons for the Civic. First, I couldn't get myself to drive an Auto. Even with the H-matic, with my driving style, it won't last for more than 3 years laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif. Second, the road tax is cheaper for the Civic, 1.5 versa 2.0 for the Sonata tongue.gif

Hi! there, Hensony,

The H. Sonata's a good car at it's price, make sure you check the wheel nuts, to make sure it's not over-tightened. My in-laws have one, so, I get to drive it, when my car's in the w/shop.

It can also be damn fast, when driven by a good driver.

Rgds

Hi there Mondeo

I think your friend might be spotting a pressure leak. Have the agent check out the radiator system if it's still under warrenty.

Hi Andy

Maybe can get him to come down on the 5th and We guys can go thru his engine bay? We might find something. Cos colant and water mixture dun just evaporate. My V6 is running hotter than his IL4. If my coolant and water can last, his can too.

Regards

Lester
