Alyc Neutral Newbie July 5, 2007 Share July 5, 2007 I can vouch for bro Virus... AMK NTUC is selling Osram Silverstar for about $40 if I'm not wrong... it's together with all the Osram household bulbs hanging from the shelfabove 1.6m from the ground... so remember to look more in the middle of the shelf coz i nearly missed it too. I've decided to go for VP... what's the best price now ah... anybody? Stamford Tyres also selling $45 for a pair... same as autobacs... Thanks for the confirmation! Anyway decided to go for VP. FYI, Stamford Macpherson sell H7 for $40 a pair plus installation. But H7 out of stock. The rest are in. ↡ Advertisement

Notyetz Neutral Newbie July 5, 2007 Share July 5, 2007 Haven't tried Osram Silver... did hear that it's equivalent to Philips VP though. Not too sure how true it is, but read in some forums that Osrams sometimes dim after a while (maybe due to batch issue?)... so decided to go for VP instead. If you're interested in Silverstar... think you can check out the forum @ singaporebikes... think some dude can get it for $30... (no installation provided though)... Ber82 Neutral Newbie July 6, 2007 Share July 6, 2007 http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel...vel_site_40242/ Last time they quoted me $30 for VP with install. Not sure about the price now. I'm not related to them in anyway. Just that I find they give good price. Service wise you have to find out yourself Thanks mate.
Pisces69 6th Gear July 6, 2007 Share July 6, 2007 I now using VP for >2 years & they r much dimmer then when I 1st installed. Cost me abt $32/pr for H4 that time. SV might b better cos they r newer technology but I might b wrong. Anyway no harm trying as VP is getting too ex. Maybe cos they r getting more popular. When they 1st came out, Tye Soon was selling only $24/pr. Only double the price of normal halogen bulbs.
Notyetz Neutral Newbie July 6, 2007 Share July 6, 2007 (edited) Was chatting with a friend and he mentioned SV as well... heard it's quite good? It's definitely brighter and better throw than stock... but not too sure how it matches up against the VP. Edited July 6, 2007 by Notyetz
Garlic 1st Gear July 6, 2007 Share July 6, 2007 For those who are interested, I just called the local Philips distributor today and according to them, X'teme Power will be available in the last quarter.
Kingkong 5th Gear July 6, 2007 Share July 6, 2007 Bro, any idea what's X'treme Power's color temp, and whether it comes with HB3/HB4 packaging?

Kingkong 5th Gear July 6, 2007 Share July 6, 2007 Couldn't find the specs to show what's the color temp for X'treme Power. Need to check if it'll be a good replacement for CV. By the way, did you hear anything on whether the disty will bring in CV Ultra as well?

I even still have my normal halogen bulbs on "stand-by" when I changed to VP >2 years back. I was thinking of putting them back when the VP blows. Pisces69 6th Gear July 7, 2007 Share July 7, 2007 Another interesting bulb I saw on this website was "NightGuide". Any idea if the dealer is bringing this in also & how much he selling it for?
Notyetz Neutral Newbie July 7, 2007 Share July 7, 2007 Seems like VP quite lasting... Trying to find out how many lumens is SV and compare it against VP... seems like not much info on SV... I saw the X-treme bulbs on powerbulbs uk... i think price is about $70 after conversion and shipping... not too sure how much SG philips will sell the bulb for... or if it's even LTA compliant... Pisces69 6th Gear July 8, 2007 Share July 8, 2007 My VP was very well installed as I watched the guy do it. Most important is to prevent any oil/dirt from touching the bulb glass. I saw a website on the SV last time. Seems they r connected to Philips & this is a similar product. Quality wise I have no idea cos I dont know anybody who has used them. If their price is lower, then can get SV instead of VP. If X-treme is very much better then VP( they claim 80% brighter whereas VP is 50% brighter), then I might consider paying $70. After all if they last >2-3 years, I think it's OK. It they r EU compliant, then automatically it wil b LTA approved.
