Bluefreud Clutched August 25, 2004 Share August 25, 2004 hi, would like to ask for help... as im driving an old car, so no more placards or whatever labels to tell me how much pressure to pump my tyres... so i always use the markings on the tyres as a guide... the markings are as followed : "Max Load 437kg at 300kPa (44PSI) Max Press" so i interpret it as pump air up to 300kPa or 44 PSI... but after thinking a while, not sure am i doing the right thing? my tyres are 175/60R14 79H pls advise. thks. ↡ Advertisement Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Virus 2nd Gear August 25, 2004 Share August 25, 2004 That's the maximum pressure you tire can take. You ride will be very hard if pump to this psi. Usually the factory recommended lable is find at the fuel cap cover or on the b-pillar when you open the driver side door. Common practice are between 29psi to 36 psi. Bluefreud Clutched August 25, 2004 Author Share August 25, 2004 hmm... i havent experienced the shaking part... even though been pumping at that pressure... wah then must really thks God that nothing has happened to me so far... ok, so now i continue driving till the amt of pressure drops to below the 30psi range? then can re-pump to ard 30 psi? thks all for your advice. really appreciate it. Mojoe Neutral Newbie August 25, 2004 Share August 25, 2004 do you have a tire gauge? good to have one so that you can check... especially one that you can release the air out. remember to check / pump only when the tires are cool... NOT after a long drive.. so, you can either pump in the morning by driving to a nearby station (nearby hor... if got to drive 10-15 min, the tires might be hot already) or pump at a higher pressure (2-3psi higher) after driving and releasing the air in the morning to the correct pressure Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
