ST115 or Pilot Preceda?

my stock are ST115, now mileage aroung 24k km. threadwear is normal and they should last me till 50~60K km. Wet/dry drip is excellent. however its a bit noisy.

 

I cant comment on the Pilot Preceda.

 

however if i were to change .. most likely i'll still go back to e ST115

i second your opinion. have tried the ST-115 on a WRX and a Fit 1.5 VTEC (both not my car). this tire grips very WELL with tolerable noise levels. there is adequate feedback and not that much compromise on comfort. i dont like spongy or springy rides.

 

wet also not much problem.

 

i belief most ppl experience probs with wet grip cause they are not in the proper gear and have to use more brake than necessary. downshifting to a lower gear and making use of engine braking are absolutely important.

 

no complaint about this tire. in fact, i recommend it!

in a tyre review by Motoring last yr, ST115 was given the same ratings as GIII in terms of comfort, braking and handling prowess. considering it costs 10 to 20% less than GIII, ST115 is a good buy

who/where u email? in S'pore, buying tires no need so high tech one... i presume u r living overseas?

 

just walk into any friendly tire shops in S'pore and compare the price. GIII/Preceda costs 10 to 15% more than ST115. got my ST115 195/50/15 for S$85@

 

good grip, nice big rim protector and aggresive thread (which extends to sidewalls)

stamford sells the tires at pretty high prices. give justin (pxx xxxg) a call. got my 15" at $85 abt 6 months ago so price should be abt the same.

Dude, try the Pilot Preceda and you will know what's called "comfort" performance tyres!

am on preceda now..got it from Justin last week and is still running in...so dunnoe the performance yet compared to my previous ST115...

but one thing can be confirmed is that the looks is not so chio compared to ST115 and is more expensive....love the ST115 rim protector...preceda doesnt seem to have this?? ride wise was quiet and softer...still monitoring...

hmmm... tempted to try Precedas for my next set of tires. AD07s giving me a butt ache, esp driving along the road leading to changi ferry terminal

 

yah, falken's rim protector is prob the most protruding and effective but some pp may find it a bit too bulging and ugly esp on v low profile tires

 

ZE512 is also not a bad alternative to ST115. slightly more comfy but not as grippy and just as noisy... price-wise, about the same as ST115
