Insulating it may help but not much diff if the source of inefficient cooling is not addressed.

There is no visible way to see the compressor oil. U need to have a gadget to plug into the low pressure valve to 'see' the oil level.

I cannot determine if its empty but I can say the level is not shown when measured. Its just like if your engine oil dipstick is below the MIN mark but does not mean no oil inside engine, just not enough.

I would say cooling is better but still need fan speed 2 for more efficient cooling. Colour of car will also affect cooling, mine is silver. [;)]

Its a small issue, dun waste time to go back SA.

Btw, not all a/c man know what is PAG oil and where to inject it. You must put the oil in through the low pressure valve and not the high pressure valve. For the Optra, its behind the engine to the right, along the firewall. There is a black cap on the valve and needs to be removed. PM me if you want my a/c contact.

ya maybe. but as a authorized contractor of SA, they dun go a good job, the car doesn't work optimumly, the up front thing is, SA look bad, GM cars look bad, the model itself look bad as it iwll be associated with not reliable, in the end sales bad. everyone of them must put in the effort to correct things. the only good thing is, the not many people buy, the car still rare on the road, we dun have to look left look right, everywhere is a mirror our our ride.

Just saw a blue Optra Wagon with SDB plates around 6:30pm on the CTE.

Looks bloody sleek on the road.

Question is, thought Wagon just came out not long, last year got already meh?

most likely retain number plate la. is the blue same as the 2L version imperior blue? I think that blue is the true reflection of how this car is suppose to look like. Mine is a color that will never shine, but i will polish it until it has the shine of black car [laugh][laugh][lipsrsealed]

anyway, today was at yap bro asking for rims. was quoted a pretty hefty price for a taiwan cast rim 15" with 4 piece potenza G3 tyre and special nut [sweatdrop] Say the wagon is very heavy, must get strong rims and tyres that can take load, so better dun save money. [lipsrsealed] but i was busy, need to rush off, so never buy. according to their guage, the rim should be 15", R15, 195, 60. loading is 88. then the rim should be 84 or something. then he mention some figure 143 or wat. any wheel expert care to share some lite ? this G3 tyre thing izzit good ? I was looking at dunlop at first, but was told its more expensive. sianz

Ya very nice imperial blue. Looks very good. I would have chosen itbut my wife call it old man blue. [:/] She prefers the blue of the new WTX Imprezas.

Tires for the wagon should be 195/55R15 in the owners manual.

195 is the width in mm of the tire. This is known as the section width.

55 This is the ratio of the height of the tyre sidewall, (section height), expressed as a percentage of the width. It is known as the aspect ratio.

R This tells you that the tyre is a radial construction.

15 This is the diameter in inches of the rim of the wheel that the tyre has been designed to fit on.

For Rims you need to know no of holes. The distance between the holes or PCD. And the offset.

For us its should be 4 holes and PCD of 114.3.

Offset for 14" rims should be 49. 15" should be 44.

The there is the speed and load rating of the tires

Got this from another website.

I was looking at a few selection for tires.

Continental ContiPremiumContact 2 - coming in a couple of months.

Goodyear F1 GS-D3

Kumho ECSTA Supra 712

Taking my time to look.

Will be using the stock tyre and rims till they wear.

tat Mr *ap keep insisting on the profile 60 tyre, saying to better cushion the ride, loading and blah blah. I quite tempted to change to a nice set of rims as the car gets shiny [laugh][sly] but think I invest in a pair of component speakers for the front first. the stock is pretty bad and radio hurt my ears. maybe will do in the HU too. no mp3 a bit sian, dun wanna stock too many CD in the car and weight it down [laugh][laugh]

aspect ratio 60 tires will have a better comfort because more rubber between road and you.

But smaller aspect ratio will make your car more responsive.

It's a trade off.

Good idea on the component speakers first, your tires can last sometime before it needs to be changed. I will be transferring my ten year old system to my wagon. Got a couple of amps, a sub, DSP and a Pioneer MP3 HU. I the HU got last year second hand.

[inlove] soo good, everything also have. I need to buy everything. sian.

now thinking of component for the front, non tweeter for the rear door, all to a new HU <- still thinking of which HU to get. THinking of getting everything blaupaunt <- dun know how to spell, simplified the setup.

The kumho tyre dun seem to be able to last too long, every day i look at it, its like deflating more and more, think its having a hard time supporting the weight of the car. Must pump air when go pa yu.

Why not keep the HU first? Just get a couple of good component speakers with tweeters for front and rear. Then next time you don;t need to upgrade your speakers. Actually that why I got all the stuff. Took me a couple of years to get all my parts one at a time.

If tyres deflating everyday, you might have a small leak. They should not be that bad.

Maybe you can try some soap water to check for leaks. If not next servicing ask at SA.

ai yo, how come everybody car like swee swee, my car got fuel guage problem, tyre deflating, creaking sound from glove compartment, air con not cold [sweatdrop][sweatdrop][sweatdrop] but i still love my baby. sometimes I feel that every small problem leads to upgrades for the better. [:p] choy choy, touch wood, dun have to much money to spare [crazy]

ya, think i start with a pair of bp 6" component speaker for the front door. HU a bit sian coz no mp3, i love listening to cd, but i park under the hot sun everyday (althou its raining quite frequently), not too good to put too many original cd in the car. Then the stock HU also a bit weird, whenever it power off, the next time it power on, the volume gets reset to super low, then i have to spin it up again. sian.
