Performance vs Quiet Tyres

Unfortunately, the Sachs sporting kit isn't available for my car. [:(]

I'm using Monroes Sensatrac (front) + Reflex (rear), which are quite comfortable shocks and installed about 9 months ago. I'll check on the shocks again, but I gather they should be fine, as my mechanic had taken a look at them recently....

You were saying that there is significant bushing wear. I'm sure the bushings are replacable without replacing the lower arm. You can get stock bushings or polyurethane bushings like Powerflex.

Hmmm...Today I did a "bounce" test on my car. And guess what, I believe you've hit the nail on the head when you mentioned shocks to be the issue... [thumbsup]

It definitely seems that the driver's side bonnet, when pushed down and released, "bounces" significantly more than the pax side. I guess that my damper on the driver's side is probably the cause of the body roll and bad handling!! Could it be the strut mounts are broken as well? Any way to determine without having to remove the suspension? [:p][sweatdrop]

Darn...And I just installed the Monroes like 9 months back!! [dizzy]

Oh well, I'll have to see if I can get hold of some firmer shocks. Any idea if Konis are any good and long-lasting? Are reds or yellows supposed to be better? [shakehead]

Nissan B14s come stock standard with KYBs (although I'm unsure which model). So I'm also contemplating KYB Super 4s or if possible, the GR2s or even the AGX, although I've yet to find out where they sell em... [:/]

I intend to replace at most, the front shocks and leave the rears alone. Do shocks come in pairs or singles? If singles, I may just opt to replace the problematic Monroe Sensatrac with a new one.... [idea]

Would welcome and much appreciate any advice on the best way to proceed...Thanks again!! [;)]

Like Saaber says, try to change in pairs although you can buy them in singles.

I think you can have a visual assessment of the mounts when you lift up the car.

Koni Yellows are very hard and are more suitable for lowered springs. Perhaps you might want to replace them with OEM shocks, so that you'll have similar handling and comfort characteristics.

I'm a bit goondu with KYB as they don't make shocks for my babe! [:p]

From what I've heard about Monroe, I'd stay far, far away from them.
