I kenna breathalyser test before. Was at road block. Wasn't drunk but my passengers were.

Anyway I don't drink and drive. I can feel drunk after a piece of chocolate laced with rum. Think if I drink a glass of beer I cannot start my cat already.

no wonder he sold off his car liow ...

will get "free lodging" or not ?

Depends. I had a friend who just got licence taken away. No jail. But he was on motorbike. Dunno if it made a difference as compared to a car.

In Singapore, can we refuse Breathalyzer?

Let TP bring us for blood alcohol test.

Don't la. Last time we have to take blood samples in ane for such patients. Make us more busy. Person is escorted by police in public. Looks embarrassing also.

Just don't drink and drive. Then why fear the test?

Now still many road blocks catching drink drivers?

last time one regular block is the opposite the entrance to TMCC .... almost every time i finish work late and pass by there after 11pm, there will be road block. the police will ask you to wind down windows and ask you stupid question - just to smell your breath.

good thing is i don't drink ... so i don't have to worry at all.

Unfortunately... This is his second brush...

Then confirm + chop stamp go in changi chalet. Also will be fined heavily, my wife's fren husband kena 3 months jail and fine $3k. He extended his stay inside cos dont want to pay the fine. Already inside liao, what for give more to govt, just let them feed him extra. License also disqualified and banned from driving for a number of years.

Just tell ur fren to get ready and let his boss knows that he will be on holiday for a while.

When you are from a good family, this might be different. Just some fine and case closed.

Forget about the SMRT COO case?

With such heavy penalty (we are talking about jail time and record ...not just pay fine only), why will any sane person still try their luck after their 1st brush with the law.

Apparently the jail + fine + license kantong not enough......

Maybe TP should consider impounding the vehicle the drunk driver was caught in and auction it off to 2nd hand dealers.

I guess some one would bring this up ...

anyway, he is the type of guy you would want in your corner ... 两肋插刀 ... do anything for friends ... even if detrimental for himself.

I dunno what happened ... but there must be a reason - even if a stupid reason - behind it.

I do not think 2 weeks jail is possible. My guess is minimum 1 month, depends on mood of judge + prosecutors + circumstances of kena caught. Tell him not to give stupid reasons, just admit guilt, remorseful and plead for leniency.

For sure license will be gantong so no need to plead for it. Just ask for liwer jail time and fine.

If he is ex-saf general, all above does not apply.

No matter of reasons (Stupid or genuine) does not warrant people to operate cars / vehicles on public roads when under the influence of Alcohol.

Its not like the movies where they show you end up in a total wreck because of you are drunk. It is ability to make quick decisions / reactions that gets impaired and might mean difference between a simple/critical injury and/or worse life or death

I totally agree ... that's why I don't even drink ... its not only on the roads that excessive alcohol can cause problems. My wife's cousin's ex-husband will come home drunk and then use a cleaver to hack on the bedroom door when she locks him out.

I also do not agree with the way he does things ... but its his choice and he's got to live with it liow ... but only I kenah work more because of his decision. [:|]
