What sort of petrol treatment did you used? I'm thinking of using STP Complete Fuel System Cleaner on my COE car, but am concern if there's any negative side effect.......do you think its safe for old cars? Any possibility of the stuff corroding the old fuel line? Will it dislodge the dirt and clog up the fuel line?sweatdrop.gif

then is much easier, good ol' WD40 or Carb cleaner spray will clean out the sludge in the carb. Spray with nozzle into idling jets oso to keep idling smooth. [nod]

For my ol' fiat Weber carb, i used fine steel wire to dislodge dirt in the idling jet screw. Dun noe about japs carbs.

Can't say about your car but my 16 year old car had no problems. I used STP fuel treatment both red & transparent bottle. Also other cheaper brands I get in JB for less $$$.

It sud clean the tank, fuel lines & carb jets etc.

I did have a problem some years back, after using STP fuel treatment, a rubber seal in the carb started to leak. Might just b a coincidence but, after I changed the seal, no more problems when I use it.

U can use it just b4 u change the fuel filter so it won't cause it to get clogged although it never clogged mine.

These products r meant for older cars. New cars are still very clean & don't need all these products..

Don't anyhow put things into your gas tank. Might have some harmful effects.

Already bought and tried STP Carb Spray.nod.gif But carburator internal looks clean even before carb spray, so not much noticeable difference.

Am interested in the Complete Fuel System Cleaner cos hopefully it will clean everything from the fuel tank all the way to the combustion chamber without any bad side effect....
