LTA pre-registration inspections do include safety checks. It is C&C's (And every agent's)duty to ensure a safe & roadworthy car, it is their responsibility. I'm not a lawyer but I can suggest the right avenues of address if you wanna make a big gun or two in C&C jump up from his Director's chair. KPKB in cyberspace doesn't really get anything moving, IMO. Hopefully we may not need to resort till this but I'm available for help if you want.

I'm driving a Picanto myself. Personally I feel that KIA cars are ok, the letdown is the service from the authorised dealer (C&C). Went for my 1000km servicing during Aug, told them to check the driver's seat coz it had some squeaking sounds. After servicing found that the mechanic didn't put the screws back. [jawdrop] As Rio is new, I feel that the mechanics at C&C may not know how to solve the problems that surface.

I just encountered the same problem too. But mine was a right turn. Made it at the carpark and suddenly the steering wheel locked. Thankfully I was moving rather slowly as I was not on the main road. But once I restart the engine, the problem was solved.

No problem...

just encounter something strange with my car..

was driving back to office and was doing a left turn...suddenly my steering wheel lock.. Nearly hit the incoming car..[sweatdrop]

Went back to pandan garden service centre and they said no problem with the steering.... [crazy]

Any advice from any bro here?

I'm seriously thinking of buying the KIA rio, but the above 2 incidents really is worrisome. Its super dangerous to have a steering wheel lock. Looks like the next better choice would be the Aveo5 1.4.

Swift totally different league. Build quality very high. If I could change a car I would get the Swift.

But the price tag is quite different too. But I think the Swift has good value.

Just my opinion...

pls advise which would be a better choice, in terms of performance, value for $ and FC:

1) Aveo 1.4 auto

2) Rio 1.4 auto

3) Getz 1.4 auto...

Anyone know the current price for guranteed COE? [nod][grouphug]

Most newly launched cars, will have some glitches, which will be ironed out.

That's why its also good to buy end opf product life cycle cars like Hyundai Accent - $41K for 1.3M and $45K for 1.5A is excellent value.
