Hi guys,

I m still running in my engine for the new Kia Rio. Now reaching mileage 700km. The FC i got from my 1.4M (hatchback) is 13.7km/L. Pretty good considering still in the run-in period. Nearly 14km/L. A good engine indeed. Pickup was good despite being a pretty heavy car. The comfort level of driving is pretty decent. Kia has indeed come a long way!

Great work Kia Motors!

Cheers...

Still running in at the moment, and hit a FC of about 13km/L with my 1.4M sedan. Surprise with the lively performan and the level of comfort driving it.

The car on display at Century Sq ...

The agent dressed up the car with body kit and 17" wheels ... pretty nice & sporty, think hoping it wld attract more buyers this way

The new Rio's pretty nice even without the body kit and 17" wheels.

But if I'm in the market for one, I'd wait for the inevitable price reduction and the possibility that SRS and ABS may be added back to the package like in the case of the Cerato.

I test drove the 1.4M hatchback last week. Was a good ride.. and I must say the interior is really well done. Like the two tone seats, and build quality seems very good. I think the 1.6 one with CVVT would seem really nice.. IF CVVT really translates into better FC.

I actually met an accident during the test drive though! not my fault. very obvious. I was just waiting to turn back into the showroom, waited for about 10 secs with signal on somemore, and WHAM. a lorry whack from behind. I think that fella must have been really sleeping. The SE was shocked man. 1st time in his 6 years kena this kind of thing. In the end had no time to even discuss even the car. settle witness paperwork and all. So I just left and tested the aveo also.

Dunno man, because of the accident, I didn't really consider the rio. THink I'm getting the facelifted getz instead. 1.4A for both but price difference about 4k? can get getz 1.4A for 46k. but I thought the interior for the rio was really something. and external shape is very snazzy.

How's the Rio compares to the Aveo in handling and cabin space?

In terms of handling pretty comparable. Both are pretty weighted, but because the rio i tested was manual, it was definitely more peppy. The Aveo seemed to have more room from a driver's perspective. However in terms of interior the rio just wins hands down. it doesn't feel cheapo like the previous generation korean entry level car at all.

in terms of FC, it seems the SE was true to his word.... pretty decent about 12-13 km/l. impressive! hope you guys enjoy your rides!!! [;)]

You guy pump wat oil to get 14L? is it on a 1.4M?

mine 1.6M dun seem to get this type of mileage. I pump esso 5000.

I should start try vpower or 98 to see if there is any different.

my friend told me that run in car should hit 100km/h to smooth the engine.

Is it true?
