Anyone know where can get a reasonable priced sound proofing for under chasis and wheel arch area for a mazda 6.

Under carriage sound proof is never cheap. You wanna rip off till bare to soundproof or just only do floor pan?

I did wheel arch, fenders, 4 doors double layer, front floor pan, boot lid. I myself dunno as don't have the "before" soundproof car. But according to my Friend it feels like a BMW.

Which would be most effective : to do (1) the wheel arch externally, or (2) the front internal floor pan ?

Because of budget constraint.

Front arch - stp antirust G

Doors - stp antirust G + stp foam (not sure what is the model)

Floor - stp dr artex (lower grade than antirust G) + stp foam

Boot & real arch area - stp dr artex

Weather/soundproof strip all doors

Damage is $2k+

 

I did above progressively over 5 visits. Each time there seems to be slight improvement (not sure if it is physiologically after $ spend). Most noticably is front arch, doors and soundproof stripes. Overall compared with initially, the road noise and the tire noise is reduced around 30-40%. Door is heavier when closing giving the conti feel. Body weight probably an additional 30-40kg i estimated.

 

All i could say, soundproofing can be addictive. Once you started with one part you will tend to want to do another. So be prepared to spend some $. Haha

overall add up to more than 1k. because currently on bimmer so enjoy the quiet light sound from inside so when collect new car will have to bear those unusual sound might come.

Look for a consignment agent, they will help you find a direct buyer. Alternatively, advertise on sgcarmart yourself or auction off your car. You sell to a dealer directly, you will get a lousy deal.

It's for safety purpose. *touch wood* all these loose items will fly like bullets upon impact and is very dangerous to passengers inside.
