  1. Guys, I'm selling my car to a dealer. Will be passing over my Transaction Pin when i get the Cashier's order from them. Want to check whether any of you experienced a dealer/seller cancelling the cashier's order after handing it over to you? I know i'm being kiasu but just want to check around. Thx
  2. I see it all the time: people queuing up at the counter while their car is being filled up. When it's their turn to pay and the car is not ready, the cashier will signal for the second chap to move up. When their car is ready, they will be first in the queue. When you have a few people doing it, it sometimes causes congestion and confusion; and everyone is delayed due to the crowd. I only queue up after my car is ready. Am I being stupid or what?
  3. Just wanna share an encounter today at the Shell Petrol Station along Havelock Road. So there I was stopping over the station merely to replenish my carpark coupons. Walking past the Black SFF Ferrari, briefly admiring it. Then entered the outlet to get my coupons. There was a slight queue, but bearable. Then overheard a rather Chinese accented English speaking voice. Alas! A China (Ah Tiong) cashier working behind the counter. As he was the only cashier at the moment, the queue started to swell. And so I was behind this middle-aged gentlemen who owns the Ferrari. As his turn came, he wanted to check on his points if he could redeem in paying off his pending petrol bill. China FT (Ah Tiong) followed up his request, taking little while. When said cashier tried explaining (in heavily accented and broken English) to Ferrari owner the total of points plus redeemable dollars and so on and so forth, Ferrari owner got blurred. All Ferrari owner wants is to get the points to pay off the current petrol bill, and any balance, he will sign it off using his credit card. Unfortunately, the eager cashier tried further explaining to him his number of points and the total dollars redeemable. And when cashier noticed the frustration of Ferrari owner on his look, he resort to his native Mandrain. This was swiftly rebutted by the Ferrari owner giving the shrug with hands wide apart posture to show his lack of grip of the language. While all these were happening, Ferrari owner did turn back facing me apologetically to express his frustration as well as holding the queue. A pretty modest Ferrari owner. And when I look back, there was already a queue of about 7 or 8 behind me. In the end, Ferrari owner simply sign the credit card making full payment. Perhaps the redeem points can be save for another day. Well, the only salvation to this rather unfortunate event is that the China cashier is very service oriented - with all the pleasant greetings, 2 hands handling the card etc without losing his cool.
  4. http://www.sgforums.com/?action=thread_dis...hread_id=279198 I was at Yishun MRT NTUC earlier today about 715pm, and I heard this commotion. This woman was shouting at the top of her voice with all the f-words and other assortment of swear words at this cashier. Apparently the system overcharged her or something and the cashier had to scribble something on the receipt in order to refund the overcharged amount to the customer so that her cash total would balance for the day. But this woman was totally rude and acting like an animal towards the cashier, who said nothing back for all her abuses. She claimed she was a "f-ing English teach at Raffles Girls' Secondary" and her father is in the police. Is this how educated people should act? Is this how a schoolteacher should behave? Is this how a teacher from Singapore's top school should conduct herself? It is such a small issue and did this even justify making a scene over, and one with all the obscenities one can find in the English language? I wonder if she can be punished properly. An indian lady could not put up with her language told her to mind her language and reprimanded the security guard for not calling in the police for all the bad vocabulary that the "RGS teacher" was using. And the RGS teacher just kept swearing and swearing. The poor cashier just kept quiet and cried. This is simply not right. Any RGS girls know who is the teacher?
