  1. Cars & Coffee, an informal event where car lovers gather and mingle, was held yesterday with much success. Basically a car meet, owners of exotic, rare, classic, vintage, or historic vehicles are encouraged to bring their beloved machines out to let others get up close to. As the last meet before year closes, these are the highlights of what happened yesterday... Can't decide which one I like more, the NA Mazda MX-5 or EG Honda Civic. 90's front-wheel or rear-wheel drive fun? MX-5 looking really clean here. A very clean Mazda RX-7 from the mid-80's with all the decals intact. Its the details that count! This 1994 Nissan President is definitely one of my favourite cars from this meet. Never expected one to survive this long on our roads considering it was already very rarely seen back in the mid-90's. There were some Italians... (Fiat Coupe's design still fresh after all the years.) some from Britain... (The Noble looks really good here.) and of course, some from Germany... The BMW E34 5 series looks amazingly well kept... Then its back to the Japanese. The Toyota Sprinter Trueno or better known as the AE86, never fails to turn heads. A lone Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 MR RS was spotted here too. Less of these now as most are reaching the end of their 10-year COE lifespan. On the topic of rally weapons, these two Subarus should not need much introducing... For those who don't know, you are looking at a 1993 Legacy 2.0RS and a 2007 WRX STi Spec C. Pity I don't have any photos of the clean Mitsubishi Colt/Mirage hidden at the end of the photo... More sedans here... The R32 Skyline GT-R. Another head-turner! With all said and done, I reckon nothing beats this 1962 Chevrolet Impala. I mean if you want to make a statement, this is it! Anyway, that's all from me for this edition of Cars & Coffee. Watch this space for more coverage of the next meet!
  2. Hi good evening everyone, just wanna check if anyone of you happen to be at Dempsey Hill this afternoon around 4-5.30pm? There's this event organized by the radio fm channel 91.3 and they were giving out car decals and vouchers of $50 dollars to be spend at Dempsey itself. I was too late when i reach there and i miss out on the vouchers. Any kind soul got the vouchers and do not plan on using it?
  3. While most of us are still fast asleep from all the Chinese New Year fun that we had from the previous nights, a car meet is already forming up at Dempsey on this very Saturday morning. Called Cars & Coffee, it is basically an informal event where like-minded car lovers come together to have breakfast and mingle around. Of course, the conversation topics usually revolve around cars and... erm more cars. Yours truly was alerted to one of these events and decided to drop by to check out the scene there. Enjoy the photos... '00 911 GT3 still looks fresh after 15 years. '62 Lotus Seven on classic plate parked beside the GT3. Don't the VW Karmann Ghia on the left look good here? Hmmm.. The Toyota Celica or the Crown? I will have the '74 Celica. Thank you. A lone '85 Audi Quattro among the Godzillas. Some of the Alfa Romeo and Saab(not pictured here) drivers also turned up. WRX STi Spec C looking tall here beside the sleek Mazda RX-7 The only '91 Civic SiR hatch running on our roads unless mistaken! Love the cute plaster sticker on the RX-7 '89 RX-7 and its much younger relative, the RX-8 The Mitsubishi GTO, another 90s Japanese sports coupe. A random Mercedes-Benz 250SL from the 60's which appeared out of nowhere as I was leaving. All in all, it was more than worth it for me to wake up early on a Saturday morning to check out these cars. Even though i woke up late and missed a few cars whose owners had to go off before I arrived, I walked away feeling glad that the car scene in Singapore is still very much alive.
  4. For fellow forumers looking for furniture shop the abovementioned is certainly one you want to stay away. Our nightmare begin when we made the purchase for dining chairs with cushions (chair not useable without cushions) in mid Jan to be delivered this week. After selecting the cushion color and wood stain color we proceeded to make full payment. Few hours later the sales person called to inform that theres additional charges for cushions of approximate 1/3 of the chair price which we must top up or else cancel transaction. Looking at my invoice w clearly states that it's chairs + cushions, of course I refused to top up nor cancel the transactions. Having being served by a round robin of shop staff our efforts to get the order fulfilled were in vain. Most disappointedly a personal call to John Erdos himself had him siding his staff part of story that there wasn't anything amiss, a top up is required and no refund will be entertained. A staff who chose to remain anonymous said that this approach is consistent with past incidents. Past the delivery date, I still have not received what I paid for. I have lodged a police report and wld be seeking small claim tribunal intervention. Needless to say I personally condemns and blacklist it. Anyone has similar bad experience with this vendor or suggestion pls share.
