  5. HELP ME!! HELP ME!! Wheres my PAPA? Wed, Feb 04, 2009 The New Paper How did car end up at this spot? HER sports car crashed through a concrete barrier by the side of the road and went hurtling down a slope for 300 metres. But, fortunately, the 22-year-old female driver, whose name is not known, was unhurt in the accident. This happened last Saturday night at 10.35pm near Blk 413A Fernvale Link in Sengkang. The woman's Volkswagen Eos was badly damaged with the front bumper crumpled, and motor parts strewn all over the ground. The driver, who appeared dazed, told Shin Min Daily News that as she was turning, a taxi had swung by too close to her vehicle. In a moment of panic, she had hit the accelerator instead of the brake . She was later seen frantically making calls on her handphone. The young woman looked shaken as she spoke on her mobile phone and sobbed at intervals. Her friends later arrived and helped her call for a tow truck.
  6. A DARK blue convertible crashed into a red-light camera and brought down the pole at the junction of Newton Road and Thomson Road last night. The impact of the crash, which happened at around 8pm, also left the Porsche wrecked. Its left rear tyre was dislodged and the front windscreen was smashed. The car was also dented on both sides. The driver, a Caucasian man in his early 30s, was wheeled into an ambulance and taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital with leg injuries. He was wearing a black shirt and bermudas. His female passenger was not hurt, and she was interviewed at the scene by police officers. The accident did not cause a jam outside the crowded Novena Square shopping centre, but there were many curious onlookers, including motorists and pedestrians, and this resulted in another minor accident when a lorry hit a Mercedes-Benz.
