  1. 17 Surprising Facts About Jackie Chan’s Car Collection source: https://www.thethings.com/surprising-facts-about-jackie-chans-car-collection/ Many of Jackie Chan’s films feature the actor driving around in sick rides. His collection in real life is just as lavish as they are in the movies. Jackie Chan is mostly known for his acting, directing, and martial artists. Throughout his career, Chan has starred in over 150 movies and is also trained in Kung Fu. Chan has garnered a reputation for comic timing and terrifying stunts, which he often completes with dangerous weapons. However, did you know that Chan also has other outlets to keep him satisfied? Chan is also an avid car enthusiast and can often be seen driving frantically in most of his movies. In fact, Chan has a solid collection that rivals some of the best car collections in the world. Here are 17 surprising facts about Jackie Chan's car collection. 17/17 He Owns A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 Jackie Chan Special Edition Jackie Chan and Mitsubishi have a special kind of relationship. So much so, that Mitsubishi even named a car after him. Ralliart, a division of Mitsubishi Motors, made only 50 Jack Chan Special Edition Evos, with a starting price of a whopping $77,000. However, they were worth every penny, not to mention exceptionally fast. 16/17 He Has A Batmobile (Sort Of) The Custom Mitsubishi Pajero Turbo might not look pretty but it sure is a great vehicle. In fact, the car was featured in the famed Jackie Chan movie, Armor of God 2: Operation Condor, in which it basically stole the show. The car is famed for resembling a cheap imitation of a Batmobile, with the custom-built rear designed to mimic the notorious superhero. 15/17 He Owns A Lamborghini Murciélago The Lamborghini Murcielago is one of the best Lamborghinis ever to be created, and it should be, considering it's worth a costly $354,000. However, the car does come with two engine variants, most importantly, a 6.2-liter V12 engine, as well as a 6.5-liter V12 engine. Think about it, that's your money right there. 14/17 There Is A Mitsubishi In Most Of His Movies Jackie Chan and Mitsubishi go together like birds of a feather, black and white, and pineapple on a pizza – depending on who you ask, that is. Yes, the two global superstars struck up a deal in the late '70s, which resulted in Chan using only Mitsibushi vehicles in his movies. The deal went on for years until very recently when Chan was spotted driving a Bentley. That's got to hurt. 13/17 He Kept The Car From City Hunter Jackie Chan has starred in some wonderful movies, along with some wonderful car chases. One of his best movies was the action-comedy thriller, City Hunter, based on the Japanese manga of the same name. Chan loved the movie so much that he even kept the car that he used, a twin-turbo V6 Mitsubishi 3000 GT Prototype. 12/17 His Favourite Car Is The Subaru Impreza WRX STI Jackie Chan's favorite car from his collection is said to be his Subaru Impreza WRX STI. And so it should be. The car is a high-performance car that boasts a turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four engine that produces 305 horsepower. It might not be the most glamorous or fastest car on the block but it sure is reliable and priced at a reasonable (to some) $32,000. 11/17 He Was Caught Driving A Military Car Jackie Chan recently caused controversy when he was spotted getting into a car with military plates while in China. The Chinese government condemned the actor for using such a car to get out of paying tolls and other fees. The act was also called an unnecessary form of extravagance and abuse of wealth. 10/17 He Used To Drive A HKS Starion Turbo The Mitsubishi Starion was a turbocharged four-cylinder, two-door, four-seat hatchback that could most definitely pack a punch. The car was available between 1982 and 1989 and was a firm favorite with Asian gearheads. In fact, the car was one of the first modern Japanese turbocharged vehicles with electric fuel injection. 9/17 He Owns A Racing Team Believe it or not, Jackie Chan also owns a racing team. Jackie Chan DC Racing (formally known as DC Racing) is a racing enterprise that currently races in the FIA World Endurance Championship and Asian Le Mans Series. Chan also owns the team with Asian Le Mans Champion David Cheng. 8/17 His Racing Team Drive An Oreca 07 Jackie Chan DC Racing currently fields an Oreca O7, a Le Mans Prototype built by top car designers, Oreca. The car made its debut in 2017 and has been racing for Chan ever since. Therefore, Chan also technically owns an Oreca 07, especially now that he has driven it and has taken numerous photographs in and around it. 7/17 He Was Gifted A Jackie Chan Edition Lamborghini Aventador Jackie Chan may prefer Mitsubishi, but that doesn't mean that he avoids anything else. That's right, Chan was recently given a special edition Lamborghini Aventador, from Lamborghini themselves. The Jackie Chan edition wasn't any different with regards to performance, but in appearance, it was certainly special. Yes, both the interior and exterior were changed to represent the man himself, with a cool red interior and a white/silver contrasting exterior. 6/17 He Was Gifted A Bentley Mulsanne The world was shocked when Mitsubishi lover, Jackie Chan, partnered with Bentley to make a short film about a high-end chauffeur. Chan played the chauffeur and was gifted a Bentley Mulsanne in return. Now that's a great way to get a free car. 5/17 He Has A 150-Foot Superyacht It might not be a car, but a humungous superyacht is probably worth talking about. Yes, Jackie Chan collaborated with the Chinese Shipyard Jinlong with the end product being that of a 150-foot supership. The project started all the way back in 2017 and after a lengthy two years, it was finally complete and ready to hit the seas. 4/17 His Lamborghini Aventador Jackie Chan Edition Was Auctioned Off For Charity For his 60th birthday, Jackie Chan was gifted his very own personalized Lamborghini Aventador. The car was pretty much untouched with regards to technology and boasted the regular 6.5-liter V12 engine. However, the inside was customized with a red interior along with Nero ade alloy wheels. Chan later auctioned off the car to raise money for the Jackie Chan Charity Fund. What a guy! 3/17 Only 50 Jackie Chan Special Edition Lancer Evo IX Vehicles Exist Ralliart loves nothing more than making cars for Jackie Chan, proving so with yet another Jackie Chan Special Edition Lancer Evo IX Vehicles. Chan did serve as the honorary director of the Chinese Team Ralliart, so I guess that had something to do with all the free cars. Sadly, only 50 of these beauties were ever made. 2/17 He Has An Embraer Legacy 650 Private Jet It might not be a car, but it is probably worth mentioning that Jackie Chan has a private jet in his collection. Yes, Chan is the proud owner of an Embraer Legacy 650. The aircraft cost a whopping $30 million and is painted in the beautiful and symbolic colors of red and yellow. 1/17 He Was The First Customer In China To Buy A Embraer Legacy 500 Private Jet Of course, Jackie Chan has two personal jets, why wouldn't he?! That's right, not only does Chan own an Embraer Legacy 650, he also owns an Embraer Legacy 500, an aircraft that set him back $20 million. Rumor has it that the Legacy 500 is for short trips and the Legacy 650 used for longer distances. Like cars? Come on down to MCF HangOut with Das WeltAuto and take a look at thier latest showroom! 3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U189SwhPXKI The death of Paul Walker, star of the Fast and Furious films has been an unmitigated tragedy. We know him from his films, but we gearheads also know him as one of us. In October last year, Matt Farah, host of The Smoking Tire, toured the seriously impressive car collection, which serves as a reminder of just what a passionate fan of driving and cars he was. One of the great things about cars is that they offer you a window into who someone is and what they care about. And over the course of this eight-minute video, we get to see what Paul Walker loved about cars. The literally dozens of Saleen Mustangs hint at a love of unpretentious blue collar speed. I was particularly pleased to see how many of the normally unloved Fox body Mustang’s Walker had. Sure, with that money, he could have bought something faster, newer, and sexier. But no, he chose to be interesting. That personality is on display throughout the collection, whether it’s a rare German sports car like the BMW M1, an old school Mercury two door wagon, or the gorgeous but slow Volvo P1800. It seems that Paul Walker loved cars for their souls. But clearly from the three Porsche GT3s that are scarred from going to war on the track, we know that these cars weren’t simply owned to be looked at. Yes, we should be sad that Mr. Walker is gone, as we should be sad whenever we lose anyone. We should also take a moment, though, to share in something that speaks of passion and joy.
