  1. What we have here folks is another car-gadget tie in. Heard of Mobiado? They're a Canadian luxury mobile phone manufacturer that usually base their phones on Nokia stuff. Their phones utilize precious materials like sapphire crystal, mother of pearl, exotic wood as well as incorporating a mechanical watch with a phone. Yes, the last one is one weird combo, mechanical meets electric. Anyway, they've started a joint venture with Aston Martin to create a Mobiado concept phone called the CTP002 and it's stunning BUT it doesn't work yet. The prototype CTP002 is supposedly concept phone that is a piece of transparent sapphire glass held by two pieces of titanium edges on each side. According to the report the sapphire glass is a capacitive touchscreen and the phone's function is based on an Andriod based operating system. All of this is still in, what I call the 'dream-like' stage and everything is purely a concept right now. I mean imagine trying to put a battery, the electronics and sim card into the titanium sides of the phone so that the big touchscreen remains transparent. It is actually mind boggling at the moment if Mobiado's engineers can make the CTP002 work. Anyway, where does Aston Martin come into the picture? According to the report the transparent Mobiado CTP002 will connect with the car and its multimedia station. This level of connectivity and how it looks is why Aston Martin lent its name to a concept phone. Much like why Aston Martin calls the car key an 'Emotion Control Unit' , I can now suggest that the Mobiado Aston Martin smart phone is to be called a 'Personal Integrated Multimedia Partner'. Or in short, PIMP. Anyway, it can display maps showing stuff from Foursquare and with cameras integrated to the future Aston Martin the occupants in the car can take photos of themselves inside the car and post it on Twitbook or Faceter. Imaging twitting
  2. When I first lay my eyes on the photograph above, it reminds me of the human-controlled robots in the movie Avatar, except that these have no arms. Coming back to the topic, General Motors and its Chinese partner Shanghai Auto (SAIC) presented a new trio of self-balancing two-wheeler concept vehicles that will be showcased in public for the first time at the SAIC-GM Pavilion at World Expo 2010 Shanghai that runs from May 1 through October 31. Called the Electric Networked-Vehicle (EN-V), the two-seater concept is tailored to the crowded mega-cities of the future. GM developed three different variants of the EN-V named Jiao (Pride), Miao (Magic) and Xiao (Laugh). The Xiao (blue color) was designed by GM Holden's design team in Australia, while the look of Jiao (red finish) was penned by designers at GM Europe and Miao (gray color) was designed at the GM Advanced Design Studio in California. Constructed using lightweight material, the EN-V weighs less than 500kg. All three versions of the EN-V are propelled by electric motors in each of their two driving-mode wheels. Power for the motors is provided by lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged from a conventional wall outlet and allow the EN-V to travel at least 40 kilometers or 25 miles on a single charge. I feel that a good testing ground for the EN-V would be environmental companies that does road cleaning. A suction pump could be attached to the bottom of the vehicle to clear up road debris and fallen leaves.

  7. Mitsubishi Motors showcases Ralliart concepts And aftermarket-tuned vehicles at 2004 Sema Trade Show Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. showcased Ralliart concepts based on its popular Galant sedan and Endeavor SUV at the 2004 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) tradeshow. With the unveiling of these Ralliart concept vehicles, the company marked its fifth consecutive year as an exhibitor at the SEMA show, the world's premier automotive specialty products trade event. Both Ralliart concepts were designed in Mitsubishi Motors' design center in Cypress, Calif. Mitsubishi Motors is displaying a total of seven vehicles in its booth, including the new Lancer Evolution MR and tuned versions of Lancer, Eclipse and Lancer Evolution. Mitsubishi models customized by other exhibitors also will be on display throughout the show. Ralliart is the motorsports arm of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. Worldwide, Ralliart vehicles feature enhanced performance, specialty equipment and sporty styling elements, such as more powerful engines, sport-tuned suspensions as well as special fascia and styling treatments. Galant Ralliart Concept (Still ugly to me, IMHO) The Mitsubishi Galant Ralliart concept embodies the definition of a Ralliart model. The concept vehicle features the same powerful 3.8-liter MIVEC high-output, 260 horsepower (hp) engine that will be available on the 2006 Eclipse, as well as the coupe's 6-speed manual transmission. The Galant Ralliart concept vehicle sits on 19 by 8.5 Racing Hart F10 wheels, 245/40/19 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires, Ralliart exhaust, as well as a custom cold air intake system and coilover springs suspension from Road Race Engineering. A rear stabilizer bar, front and rear strut braces, and Brembo's 4-piston brake kit (front) and custom cross-drilled rotors (back) complete the mechanical modifications. Regarding the Galant Ralliart concept exterior, PIAA driving lamps, show car-quality paint, a metal mesh grille with Ralliart logo, as well as custom-integrated rear spoiler, front and rear fascia and side skirt, immediately make it clear that this is a special ride. The Galant Ralliart concept also features a custom interior, including coordinated carpeting and leather. Comfort and appearance are enhanced with Recaro® front driver and passenger seats, Ralliart shift knob, and Logitech driving simulator steering wheel and pedal set. Even a Recaro® baby seat has been added for the enthusiast family man. Sparco race helmets, as well as 4-point race harness (two sets), driving gloves and driving shoes are all compliments of SuperAutobacs. Endeavor Ralliart Concept Mitsubishi Motors gave a similar Ralliart treatment to the Endeavor. The new 3.8-liter MIVEC high-output engine provides 260 hp, and the popular midsize sport utility vehicle rides on 20 by 8.5 Enkei LM1/5S wheels and 275/40/20 Falcon tires with a SuperAutobacs grounding kit. A five-speed automatic transmission, modified exhaust system and Road Race Engineering custom cold air intake and coilover suspension enhance performance, as do Brembo 4-piston brakes (front) and custom cross-drilled rotors (rear). Visually, the Endeavor Ralliart concept vehicle stands out by incorporating PIAA driving lamps with factory-tinted headlamps, show car quality paint, a metal mesh grille with Ralliart logo and custom front and rear fascia and side skirt. Inside the vehicle, drivers will appreciate a custom interior including coordinated carpeting and leather. Recaro® front seats, Ralliart pedals, Logitech driving simulator steering wheel and pedal set and a custom shift knob all contribute to an enhanced interior appearance. Knowing that the performance enthusiast demands the latest in technology, this Endeavor Ralliart concept is equipped with a Pioneer AVIC-80DVD navigation system and an Eclipse stereo system with speakers installed by SuperAutobacs. For pure fun and entertainment, a Sony Playstation 2 system running on a 30" Mitsubishi LCD monitor is also a key feature. 2004 Lancer Ralliart Another exciting vehicle featured at the Mitsubishi booth is a 2004 Lancer Ralliart, customized with a range of Mitsubishi genuine accessories available at any Mitsubishi dealership. This Lancer Ralliart exterior features body color-coordinated rear-wing spoiler with a graphite-look blade; acrylic hood protector and side window air deflectors; stainless steel scuff plates with Ralliart logo on the front door thresholds; and mirror-polished stainless steel accent for the tailpipe and roof spoiler with Vortex winglets to enhance appearance and reduce drag. Inside the Lancer Ralliart, sport meter gauges (voltage, temperature and vacuum) match the instrument panel; with aluminum sport pedals completing the package. Lancer Evolution MR Edition (YEE-HA!!!!!) Also at the Mitsubishi booth is a Lancer Evolution MR Edition, featuring a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder intercooled-turbocharged engine that delivers 276 hp at 6500 rpm. The MR Edition is the highest-performance, street-legal Lancer Evolution, with a newly-standard Active Center Differential and front Limited Slip Differential, which work with Sports ABS to create a more natural, better-mannered driving feel. Strong fin-design BBS® forged aluminum wheels are exclusive on the MR Edition, and the vortex generator at the trailing edge of the roof creates small vortices that reduce drag and increase the down force generated by the rear-deck spoiler. Styling inside the Lancer Evolution MR Edition is consistent with the exterior design: aluminum shift knob; aluminum and carbon fiber brake lever handle; aluminum pedals; sport meter gauge kit with three gauges (boost, voltage, oil pressure) clustered in the center stack; and a stainless steel plate embossed in red with the MR designation. Moriyama Concept Eclipse Several Mitsubishi vehicles tuned by other exhibitors are in this year's Mitsubishi SEMA booth. Among these is the Moriyama Concept Eclipse, the result of collaboration between Mitsubishi, Pepsi, RJ de Vera and Shawn Williams. This vehicle, an Eclipse concept vehicle customized with inspiration from Pepsi spokesmodel Eri Moriyama, has been touring the nation at all "Hot Import Nights" events. The Moriyama Concept Eclipse captures the eye immediately with its Lamborghini Diablo Pink paint job and carbon fiber accents. Sitting atop massive 20-inch Motegi Racing wheels and BFG Goodrich tires, the vehicle is tuned with full intake and exhaust systems, as well as a N/X direct port nitrous set up. Inside the Moriyama Concept Eclipse, comfort and entertainment reign with Sparco seats, steering wheel and shift knob. Seven television screens as well as an audio system featuring three subwoofers, three powerful amps and front and rear staging units complete this outstanding project car. Pepsi Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII (Taking things too far,IMHO) Another featured vehicle included the Pepsi Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII 2004 Sweeps Concept Car, a collaboration between Mitsubishi Motors, RJ de Vera and Pepsi. This special Lancer Evolution concept vehicle reinforces the Lancer's reputation for high performance and aggressive styling, with a variety of enhancements. A Veilside VS-GT full aero kit and Evo VIII VS-GT wing give the vehicle a cutting-edge, sporty appearance, as does a Versus Motorsports carbon hood and graphics from Auto Indulgence. Performance is boosted with a DC sports exhaust system, AEM intake system, Denso iridium power spark plugs and an Eibach suspension kit. Black suede-wrapped Recaro seats with matching panels and a carbon-style dash and power window trim package add extra flair to the interior of this Lancer Evolution concept car. The interior, which was customized by Street Concepts, also boasts a Veilside shifter and a full audio system with Pioneer CD/tuner head unit, Infinity front and rear stage speakers, Infiniti subwoofers and JBL amplifiers. AMS installed the audio system in a trunk enclosure with neon lighting.

  9. http://www.supercars.net/PicFetch?pic=2003_renault_be_bop-1.jpg http://www.supercars.net/PicFetch?pic=2003_renault_be_bop-2.jpg http://www.supercars.net/PicFetch?pic=2003_renault_be_bop-3.jpg Renault Design unveils Be Bop and Be Bop at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show. Two interpretations of the compact MPV theme, one is an all-terrain SUV and the other a sporting model under the Renault Sport brand. Be Bop and Be Bop combine rounded forms with structured lines for greater aerodynamic efficiency. Exceptional visibility and unique brightness characterize the cabin space, which can be configured in multiple ways to best suit occupants. The interior features numerous innovations, while the ergonomic Touch Design controls are intuitive. Be Bop and Be Bop clearly belong to the Renault concept car family. Their pleasant physique resembles Ellypse while their profile has certain features in common with Koleos. Inside the cabin, the Touch Design concept introduced with Talisman comes into its own. 'Both these vehicles follow on from our previous concept cars, illustrating inside and out a desire to take our signature design concept to its full expression through the notions of charm and sensuality,' explains Patrick le Quement, Senior Vice President of Renault Corporate Design. An expressive design in a rounded package Be Bop and Be Bop instantly seduce with their modern, rounded forms. From the side, these four-metre long cars stand out for their vast glazed surface. Reminiscent of a water droplet, their style suggests movement and aerodynamic sleekness. 'The water droplet is a superb symbol of aerodynamic purity,' points out Michel Jardin, Director of Concept Car Design. Thanks to their softly rounded form, Be Bop and Be Bop provide a solution to the problem of MPVs, whose lack of aerodynamics has a negative impact on fuel consumption. The streamlined floorpan also helps boost aerodynamic efficiency. Be Bop and Be Bop are one single flowing line. The shape of the front and rear wings communicates a friendly but also powerful air. Their curve is extended at the front by a panoramic windscreen that disappears into the immense glazed roof before dropping down to form the V-shaped rear window, resulting in the signature Renault rear end. One concept, two attitudes With over half their bodywork parts in common, Be Bop and Be Bop nevertheless have very different personalities. Squarely positioned on its generous 21-inch PAX System wheels, Be Bop is a sport utility vehicle intended as much for city life as off-road driving. With its 210mm ground clearance and four-wheel drive, few obstacles stand in its way. Its blue-tinted steel exterior includes specific elements that show this SUV means business: at the front, the radiator grille includes a more mat protection zone while the highperformance lamps incorporate blue-tinted diodes for a high-tech aura. The rear lamps are shaped like flashes of light, while the double exhaust pipe fits neatly either side of the tailgate. Another of Be Bop's original features is the tailgate's functional and aesthetic opening system. First, an electrical motor lifts the rear window above the roof. The lower part opens downwards while a shelf automatically slides forward to house luggage and parcels. Be Bop is a sporting compact MPV whose bright yellow bodywork is characteristic of Renault Sport vehicles. All the front-end design features are specific, with flowing lines that prove sporty handling and soft forms can go together. The radiator grille adds to its sporty personality, as does its 225bhp 2-litre turbocharged engine. A spacious and occupant-friendly interior The two rear-hinged doors open to reveal an original and elegant interior. The eye is drawn to a central arch to which the seats are anchored. This frees up floor space to create an unprecedented sensation of spaciousness. This arch also forms a link between front and rear occupants to reinforce the interior's friendly spirit. Two side arches stretch the length of the doors for passengers to rest their arms. The polished aluminium gearlever rises over the central arch, which houses all the other main controls such as heating, air-conditioning, navigation and music. A chromefinish clock sits at the end of the arch in full view of clock sits at the end of the arch in full view of both passenger and driver. Be Bop and Be Bop provide ample stowage space in the central tunnel, dashboard and doors. The rear seats of the Be Bop SUV can disappear under the front seats with the flick of a switch inside the door. And an articulated arm folds the back of the rear seat onto the cushion in a matter of seconds. Cushion and back then slide under the front seat to completely free up the rear space. User-friendly controls and discreet technology Be Bop and Be Bop take the Touch Design concept - introduced with the Talisman concept car then further explored with Megane II, Espace IV and Scenic II - to its highest level of expression so far. Like the steering wheel with its hand print motif, all the controls suggest their function and invite contact. Be Bop and Be Bop are brimming with sophisticated but always discreet technology. Key information (speed, rev counter, etc.) is displayed on two superimposed LCD screens and in 3D for greater clarity. The rev counter is represented by coloured circles. Auxiliary information such as navigation, music, communication and Renault services is grouped together on a separate screen at dashboard height, and which can be folded down and can face the driver or passenger. Colours that match personality Both these concept cars' interiors enjoy a distinctive colour scheme. With its slim seats, pale khaki and deep orange leather upholstery, and woven cotton flooring, the Be Bop SUV shows its warm personality. The panoramic windscreen and glass sunroof accentuate this by bathing the cabin in light. Be Bop meanwhile adopts an interior that reflects its vocation. The slim black seats with reinforced sides are ideally adapted to sports driving, as are the gearlever and dials. Story by Renualt, Edited by Supercars.net Specification below is for the Be Bop Sport version which are roughly the same for the Be Bop SUV.
