If you feel your 2019 Mazda MX-5 that has the uprated 181bhp 2.0-litre engine not brisk enough, BBR has the solution for you. First up is the performance package called Super 200 and it include the brand's cold air intake system, stainless steel exhaust manifold, K&N air filter and StarChip ECU remap, boosting the horsepower figure by 18bhp and 14Nm of torque, or 199bhp and 224Nm of torque in total. The second package (Super 220) is the one that catches our attention and in addition to what has been installed in the Super 200 package, the Super 220 includes high-performance camshafts, valve springs and retainers, pushing the total power output to 218bhp and 217Nm of torque. That said, those figures have been achieved using 99-octane gasoline. “This is the first time that over 100bhp-per-litre has been achieved from a normally aspirated Mazda MX-5motor without internal modifications”, said the tuner’s Managing Director, Neil McKay. “And additional development has seen BBR achieve more than 110 hp per liter with the inclusion of our bespoke performance camshafts, which is astonishing for a road-friendly engine that now also produces over 200Nm from just 3,000rpm.” The aftermarket company also has other goodies like a 2.5-inch center exhaust section with a choice of rear silencers, and a 4-into-1 tuned stainless steel exhaust manifold that incorporates a performance catalytic converter, to push out a couple of extra horses. Both packages have a 12- to 36-month extendable warranty.

I'm not usually a fan of the mitsuoka design. But i have to say this car looks very nice. Like one of the classic british convertibles of the 60s or 70s. (i dunno what the old corvette looks like though this is a homage to the corvette) http://www.mycarforum.com/blog/12/entry-5518-mitsuokas-new-roadster-is-based-on-the-mazda-mx-5/ https://www.topgear.com/car-news/modified/mitsuoka-rock-star-mazda-mx-5-corvette-fancy-dress

Twenty-five years after the original Mazda MX-5 was revealed at the 1989 Chicago Motor show, Mazda has given us our first insight into the technology that will underpin the all-new fourth-generation MX-5 – due on sale in 2015. Now these images show how the car could look. Displayed at last week's New York Motor Show wasn't the new Mazda MX-5 itself, but the advanced new SKYACTIV-chassis and engine that will form the backbone of the new MX-5, and the new Alfa Spider being co-developed alongside it. Mazda has confirmed the engine will be positioned behind the front axle and closer to the car’s centre than ever before, plus the centre of gravity will be lower than previous generations – factors that should improve the handling. The new chassis has also been engineered for “outstanding body rigidity and crashworthiness”, while the weight has been reduced by more than 100kg through the use of thinner, higher-strength steels. As a result, entry-level soft-top models are expected to weigh less than 1,050kg. New Mazda MX-5: extra details: At this stage there are no other official details from Mazda, although the car is expected to gain a slightly longer wheelbase than its predecessor for improved stability, comfort and interior space. The engine range is likely to include a pair of naturally-aspirated four-cylinder SKYACTIV petrol engines – one a 1.5-litre unit and the other a 2.0-litre, with around 130bhp and 165bhp respectively. As you can see in the picture, a manual gearbox will continue to be offered, with an auto as an option. Mazda is giving little away about the car’s design, but it’s believed to be a very different interpretation of the ‘Kodo’ design language – rather than a cardboard cut-out of the new Mazda3 or Mazda6. Expect simple-surfacing and classic roadster proportions with a long bonnet and the cabin pushed back towards the rear axle.

The Mazda MX-5 Miata was regarded as one of the best-driving, most influential sports cars of the past two decades. And believe it or not, one of these iconic sports cars from Mazda has been lying around in the garage, never driven for 23 years. Recently, on auction site eBay, an owner, from Kingman, Arizona, has listed his 1990 Mazda MX-5 Miata for sale. In the description, the seller said the car, which was never registered, didn't come with a set of keys, so he had to have a set made. Though the paint is clean and shiny, the Miata didn't escape minor cosmetic damage over the years, with scratches on the hood, the trunk and the factory hardtop that is included with the car. The front, right fender has a small dent as well. The seller also added that the car was stored in a building with windows, so the paint is faded in some places. It's antenna and battery is missing, and the only non-original parts on the car are the windshield wipers. The clear-title car comes with all paperwork, according to the seller, but, besides the owners' manual, he didn't specify what other documentation would be included. But more impressively, the car has only clocked 44km on its odometer! According to the seller, he bought the car with 32km on it, and explained that 11km were added when the car was towed home. Frankly speaking, it's getting hard to find ones that haven't been beaten to hell. If this is accurate, it is about the cleanest and nicest Miata we have ever seen, and it looks like it just came off the showroom floor more than 20 years ago. Though its story is a bit strange, this barn find appears to be in excellent shape and looks like a really good deal not to be missed. As of this writing, the auction has one day to go, and the current bid is just USD$10,500 (S$13,335). Unfortunately, it's a left-hand drive and if someone were to ship it over to Singapore, it would most probably lay around in the garage too, till its next owner ships it back overseas. Note: Photos shown are not of actual vehicle.

Mazda to debut the MX-5 GT Concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
FaezClutchless posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
The Mazda MX-5 is one terrific compact roadster but many have commented that it is a little lacking on horsepower. The current generation delivers around 170bhp and 190Nm of torque. For those who felt that the MX-5 is a little lacking in power; would a more powerful and more sporty-looking version appeal to you? Then sit back and read on. Mazda is bringing its MX-5 GT Concept to the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed which starts on the 28th of June to the 01st of July. The Mazda MX-5 GT Concept will be on display throughout the festival on Mazda's stand, as well as taking part in the hill climb in the 'First Glance' category. Mazda is said to be debuting the car, a right-hand drive model, in order to gauge public reaction towards it. There might be a chance for the car to go into production and it all depends on the public. The MX-5 GT Concept is hugely based on the company-
