Neutral Newbie

I'm driving a swift sport zc31 manual. My clutch slip when I accelerate over 3k rpm. The acceleration comes in after a delay of about 2sec.  When I floor, the Rpm will rise like it's in neutral gear and then will go down and accelerate the speed.

I just changed a recon gearbox and new clutch kit 2 mths ago.  Went back to the workshop and they told me it's normal cuz I changed a normal clutch, if I change a racing clutch then won't have this problem.

Anyone can help on this?

If its brand new then the engine is very tight.

As the engine loosen up you will get better

fuel figures. I also always change the oil after

1k km as the oil will have a lot of metal shavings.

:D

Was comparing to swift sport A. Anyone tried both n ur thoughts? How big is the different for automatic only.

Def go for manual if you are going for a spirited drive. With a MT you can keep your RPM constant while down shifting. I find this hard in the CVT. The M16A is a very rev happy engine and drivers will want to keep the rev high. The CVT somehow took that away.

My advice is to go to the track if you want to test the limits of the car. Don't do on public roads. Recently saw a video of 2 SSS on KJE racing and got into an accident. Recognize one of the cars which was sold earlier by the original owner. My assumption is the driver is probably a young and new driver.

Edit: Saw understand that you are comparing the 1.4A to the 1.6A. Go for 1.6A then. Again, Stocked M16A is tuned differently from the K14B and not just a 200cc difference. If possible, go for the manual. But saw that CM does not bring the MT SSS now. If you can wait, the 4th Gen swift is already announced. IMO, looks nicer than the 3rd Gen.
