Bad news for those who actually do, because according to paultan.org, the government is mulling over the idea of installing speed limiting device in all vehicles.

 

The vehicles subjected to the 110km/h speed limiting includes all passenger cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles. Emergency vehicles and other law enforcement vehicles would be exempted from the speed limiting.

 

This is because the number of road accidents and fatalities have been on the rise. According to Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk Dr Abu Bakar Mohamad Diah, using a speed limiting device to stop speedsters 'would be a suitable method to reduce road accidents'.

 

He added that if enforced, it would put Malaysia on the map as the first country in the world to limit vehicle speed car based on speed limits in accordance with national law too.

 

While there are no details on how it would affect Singapore cars, let's hope this does not turn into reality!

Even from factory put in the limiter,workshop can easily remove the limiter using a computer..

Wonderful news. That way, only Singapore cars will be the ones speeding. That's fine, because we're the only ones being pulled over and extorted anyway, speeding or not! :)

Will the device spoil the car? Woah. i cannot imagine a Lambo or Alfa from Malaysia running only at 110km/h!!! I can win them this time! MUHAHHAHAHA!

They should just stop importing cars...only sell Proton....with 110km/h limit.

Sounds like a way for cronies to make money only lor.

 

And then workshops also make money selling ways to bypass device.

 

Then motorist can appeal fine/summon saying device shouldn't allow them to speed.

 

 

Win-Win-Win situation! Malaysia BOLEH!
