Toyota Wish rocked back and forth by driver while being 'fed' petrol like a baby

This Toyota Wish was treated better than I was when growing up. Watch the video to see why.

What happened?

At Gelang Patah R&R, a Toyota Wish was spotted being given some special treatment while refuelling. It was gently rocked by its driver and assisted by an attendant in a tender effort to quench the car’s thirst for fuel.  I’m jealous. Why couldn’t my parents treat me this way?

Looking at this did make me curious though. Does shaking the car do anything at all?

Short answer: No.

Nope. First, your car has a fixed capacity fuel tank (duh), if it is not fixed and can somehow fill up indefinitely, please contact us at [email protected].

However, the theory is that when filling up petrol there are air pockets that form during the process. This reduces the amount of petrol that one can pump into their car, wasting time and money. Think of it like a soft drink can, where there’s always air in the can so the can is never truly full.

However, rocking isn’t the way to solve this. In CNA’s Talking Point episode 32, the director of Mister Garage, Vincent Emmanuel Lee debunked this myth, saying “When we pump the petrol into the tank, it creates foam and vapour (which) occupies the tank. When we wait for the vapour and foam to dissipate, that's when you can pump more petrol into the tank.”  This makes shaking ineffective as everything is already at the top instead of within the liquid.

Online chatter

Back to our usual Facebook clownery, people made fun of the shaking and rightfully deemed it useless.

However, some people took offense to the footage being recorded in the first place, saying the person who took the footage had nothing better to do as the driver did nothing illegal.

Writer’s thoughts: I was treated very well as a kid I just needed to get your attention for this article lol.

I have a new favourite game - Dave the Diver!

Nowadays I think many people have a Nintendo Switch, considering how it is often given away as a free gift when you sign up for credit cards, etc. Instead of just playing Mario Kart, Overcooked and Pokemon, I have another game to introduce to you all! The game is Dave the Diver. This game has completely captivated me with its delightful blend of adventure and relaxation. From the moment I dove into its vibrant underwater world, I was hooked. The gameplay mechanics strike that perfect b

5 ways the Polestar 2 Core Edition proves less can be more

With a less-is-more approach, the Polestar 2 Core Edition offers a more value-for-money entry into the Swedish brand.  What first comes to mind when you think of Sweden? IKEA, and probably ABBA. But there's plenty more that has come out of Sweden besides flat-pack furniture, meatballs and impossibly-catchy pop songs. Founded as a standalone brand just eight years ago and headquartered in Torslanda, Sweden, Polestar is a design-forward electric performance brand that wants to put its Sc

A 20-year journey, an old passion rekindled

For us 90s babies, the Holy Trinity of Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network formed a big part of our childhood. The internet was just about coming into fruition, with the rise of a plethora of websites with numerous entertaining flash games and of course, the early days of YouTube. And though those things have come and gone, one thing in my life remained constant: My love for Pokemon. I first got into Pokemon 20 years ago, and I remember exactly how it went down. Let me set the
