Flexer Neutral Newbie July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 Hi, Newbie here have a question. In carbuyer, Superb is listed as "medium sized" sedan. Does it have the same spaciousness as say the nissan cefiro, toyota camry and the honda accord which are all listed as "big sized" sedan. Also does the new FL have features like bi-xenon headlights and audio controls on the steering wheel?
Lightspeed Clutched July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 I suggest you see the car for yourself at the showroom, you'll be surprised at the leg room of the Superb Ideal car for sugar daddies
Firstcall Clutched July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 yeah quite stupid... the wheelbase is longer than camry and such even though the width is considerably narrower on paper and yet classified as medium even in local magazines.

Koolaba 1st Gear July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 (edited) Some sites you can refer to for the dimensions of the cars you have mentioned. Skoda Superb http://www.skoda.co.uk/skoda3g/content/sho...b/technical.pdf(Page 4) Toyota Camry http://www.drive.com.au/buy/new/car_featur...=15829020060101 Nissan Cefiro http://www.nissan.com.sg/lookfor/cefiro/cefiro_spec.cfm Honda Accord http://www.honda.co.jp/ACCORD/dimensions/ The bi-xenon headlamp is available on Comfort and Elegance trims. The final equipment trim for the FL Superb is still not confirmed. Edited July 7, 2006 by Koolaba

Solar Turbocharged July 8, 2006 Share July 8, 2006 just curious, what chips are suitable for the superb, and what is the one used by CA (which costs $2k incl. tuning)? which is recommended?
Koolaba 1st Gear July 8, 2006 Share July 8, 2006 I am not in the best position to answer you this question because I am totally satisfied with the stock output of the Superb. Perhaps Conned can answer on my behalf. Here are some links which you can find answers to your question: http://www.vagpower.co.uk/Revo.htm http://www.abt-sportsline.de/ http://www.goapr.com/VW/index.html I have no idea which chip is used by CA. Lightspeed Clutched July 8, 2006 Share July 8, 2006 (edited) CA is using BSR by Autovox Edited July 9, 2006 by Lightspeed
Solar Turbocharged July 9, 2006 Share July 9, 2006 read a bit from the websites suggested by koolaba and its quite confusing. some mentioned the chips have 91/93 octane types for what turbo types? http://www.goapr.com/VW/products/ecu_upgrade_passat18t.html anyway, not going back to CA for the chip upgrade would result in loss of warranty right? is there a need for gauges after the chip upgrade? any danger of overheating/overboosting/etc? how would you know its done properly (given the 'quality' of CA engineers)? i was thinking, if i were to get the car, might as well one time do swee swee by doing up the chip, yet warranty is covered (and insurance too)
Conned Clutched July 9, 2006 Share July 9, 2006 (edited) IF u are getting the car, don't do anything first. IM sure u can trust the quality of CA technicians..sumtimes it 's not because they are not qualified to do a certain repair or help in queries..its because their hands are tied by Exclusif policies. Re flashing, AS far as I know..CA wud " recommend" you to go AV which carries BSR OBD II .@SGD1800.(pls call AV for current pricing..etc..). FYI, the OCTY II in M'sia are running APR N most of e SPB there are the 2.8V6. makes sense. If u are running stock ,there is no need to install any boost gauge, oil temp or press. The K03S, same as de one in the Audi TT,b5.5plus are runnin a torquey but safe 0.7bar.ECU has a cutoff mode ,when u overboost it will revert to LIMP MODE> Stage 1 chip will see u arnd 193BHP/280nm.which is more than enuff . I had spiked 1.3bar b4 couple of times n LIMP MODE Cut in. Please note that chippin, flashing and tuning are 3 entirely different things. whatever make u choose. u hav to make sure that ur car model, year and ECU Code are displayed on the software n they hav the rectification codes to identify ,interpret n reset the fault codes. jus bekoz the SPB is based on the passat /A6 platform doesnt mean the ECU are the same. I don't know if they ,AV, carry ABT ( chip) nowadays,.actualli nowadays no one does "chipping" anymore. MTechnic, MTM & GIAC are all going "chipless" now. jus my 0,02cts ..Good luck on ur search..Im not pro-SKODA or SUPERB or any brand but I wud say it's value for $$$ for its class & wht it can do.,esp now wza price tag of less than 90K. Thank U Koolaba for thinkin highly of me to answer this..I always tot u are the one wz all de facts n answers for this make. in fact.Im not suppose to offer opinions of any sort or post here. REst of ur answers, SOlar..if u wan,,I can PM you. Cheers all n hav a SUPERB week ahead! Edited July 9, 2006 by Conned
